Sex and rape scenes should not be in film at all, full stop. It's cheap and is just an excuse to exploit women one way or the other. Loads of actresses have spoken about how they hate sex scenes, especially rape scenes (GOT in particular, which I will never watch), and feel uncomfortable having to film them. We live in an age where we literally have to check for trigger warnings before watching a film or show, that's how bad it is.

The takeaway for those who don’t know, Olivia Wilde is very much being exposed over the news as a fake feminist or at least very disrespectful towards Florence and people are NOT here for it. Alongside potentially being a massive liar. EDIT: I am not a Harry or 1D fan at all there are plenty of better actors out there. The problem with Olivia is purely on what she chose to put on there on the record in the news and how MESSY its shown to be. Idc about her and Harry but publically shading Jason NAH as a child of separated parents I'd be mortified that the whole world could see that.
@helenemuscagorry2442 жыл бұрын
I don't know about her disrespect against Florence (I can't find it) but Florence was against the way Wilde was promoting the film wich was only via the sex scenes. @@helenemuscagorry244 I just think it’s such a FU to publicly be uncomfortable about sex marketing and then proceed to make the whole world focused on it. Olivia publicly acts like she cares but she really doesn’t. Similarly about the custody papers, obvs it’s their relationship their problem but it was the very public shading of Jason that makes me think what will her kids think there. Being a celeb is hard I feel for her there but she’s just been shown to be very performative and messy.

@@SaintShion its truly shit that this is how its played out for Olivia. On one hand i truly feel bad for her because there are female led projects that have done so well within their own respects, Russian Doll, Killing Eve and OITNB. Its just so shit that Olivia has become so so so performative even with the sex in mind shes acting like there isn't good female sex on screen as if Normal People or Bridgerton or Sex Education even doesn't exist. From whats been said about DWD it seems baffling for something Truman show esque and Black Mirror esque to be so positive and focused on sex. She could have marketed it a different way but it seemed she tried so hard to be something unique and amazing at the expense of other peoples feelings and her relationships to those around her. Hollywood is 100% corrupt but theres no denying she could have been better as a person and director but chose not to be.

in what way is she being disrespectful to Florence? Florence and Shia were literal buddies over text and never even met in person because Shia had been replaced before the filming of dwd even began (in pre-production). Florence was ecstatic to work with Shia, actually, and when the difficulties with him happened, Olivia prioritised everyone's (including Florence's) comfort and decided to let Shia go instead of catering to his demands and bad attitude. y'all go after Olivia over this not knowing half of the context, just going off by gossip made up by larry shippers and incels, hyping up an abuser's attempt at diverting the media's attention from his upcoming abuse trial.

@IjeomaThePlantMama2 жыл бұрын
That whole "Florence had to direct" thing is absolute nonsense. Film productions have a line of people who would assume the director role if need be before an actor would ever have to, and even then, a studio would replace a director entirely before that would even happen. First of all, Florence Pugh is a goddamn icon Second, an actor who is not great at interviews or explaining their creative process is totally valid. Sometimes super talented people are less talented in other areas. Tea Spill pointed this out but I felt like it deserved reiterating Third, we can critique Olivia for unprofessional behavior while still respecting that she is a woman in a male-dominated field. Or, we can point out that she and Harry are both consenting adults and while the director/actor power imbalance is very very real, he’s also one of the most famous pop stars in the world so that tends to even it out a little. Possibly a messy relationship but I also don’t think it should detract from the movie any more than it would if gender roles were reversed. Tea spill pointed this out also but again, I thought it was worth reiterating Fourth, for all we know Harry was talking, a glob of spit fell out of his mouth, and Chris Pine was being silly about it. Or, deep fakes are real, someone could have fabricated this as a meme and it blew up Fifth and last, we can accept that ALL of these things can be true at the same time, some could be true and some not, or NONE of it is true at all AND accept the fact that we will never really know what the actual situation is
@omegasage7772 жыл бұрын
I saw a tweet that said Chris had stopped clapping to see if Harry would reach over him to shake hands with Olivia or interact with her, and when he didn't and continued ignoring her, Chris laughed...I think that makes much more sense than the spit theory

I think Olivia tried to take advantage of Shia’s industry reputation to paint the picture of herself being the protector of her cast when instead had she just told the truth there wouldn’t be all of this drama. The fact that she tried to double down on the lie after being shown that she has no credibility really tarnishes her reputation. Not to mention that she tried to promote the movie herself as some type of sexual tour de force for women seemingly purely in the hope that it would increase its box office. The relationship with Styles only made matters worse. It seems Florence just wants to do her job and maybe was given a different impression of what the movie would be focused on and ultimately is disappointed in the direction it has been steered by Olivia. The sex in the movie being sold by her above all else cheapens the performances of the cast and sullies everyone’s involved reputations.

olivia's interview with vanity fair came out today where she kinda talked about this drama but mann even that doesn't even serve her side much. she said the video was before flo expressed concerns and the only problem there was lack of rehersal times but eventually more problems arise and she chose flo. though that makes sense the comment of "wake up call for miss flo" is still very sus. plus florence not talking about this or defending her tells me everything i need to know about her experience and feelings. all in all olivia seems very much like a fake person that i wouldn't be friends with.

Thanks for explaining everything. I was hearing bits of news everywhere and it was confusing. I am so sick of seeing people filming themselves talking to camera while driving!!!! It's such a distraction, eyes on the road people! Even just making a vlog, not looking at the camera, your head is concentrating on the video, not your surroundings, other cars etc. It's so dangerous. I hate seeing anyone famous doing it and making it look like a normal thing to do, thereby making their fans think it's fine for them as well.

Unlikable men and women should be held to the same standard when their behaviours for deception and causing tensions on set are the same across the board. I think people are confusing equality for hate and that's not it at all. I dont think Florence deserved to be belittled or treated like this and shes a women too. That's equality, women can be unprofessional to other women just like men, if not worse, cause we're supposed to really support each other
@sarahbearbabygirl2 жыл бұрын
i think the root of olivia’s issues is that she is an actor, with an actor’s mindset and ego - which are not good things when you are behind the camera and supposed to be a collaborator. with actors, if they have an inflated sense of grandeur they aren’t much of a problem. and it’s because they have control over almost nothing: they are the performers at one of the last steps of a project’s process. almost everything has already been decided, and the actor is more or less a tool that is needed to carry out those decisions. whether or not the tool does it’s job is what makes a good actor. but behind the camera, where you can have control from day one, she very much gives the vibe of a fresh film student who thinks their every idea is gold and needs to be carried out exactly how they envisioned. it’s not realistic, it’s naive, it’s not collaborative, and it’s very egotistical. those things are okay for an actor to be as long as they perform, but for a producer, writer, director, etc etc…..not good at all. it’s more than personality or creative differences. she as a person is clearly not ready or capable behind the camera, or at least isn’t yet. it seems she would have to do a lot more work, learning, and humility before she could be ready - and i don’t envision her doing that any time soon, or ever.

“Wake up call”, like you’re such a social justice warrior. I obviously don’t know any of them personally, but Florence has been nothing but humble and professional from what I’ve seen. She’s also an incredibly talented actress who shouldn’t have had to act opposite Harry, who Olivia brought on because she had a boner. Strictly my opinion but come on, you have kids and you’re acting like you’re in high school. No shade on Harry but his acting from what I saw was not good 🥴

Hmm, it seems like the focus on the drama, or really the sensationalism of all the drama, stems from Harry's fans and their "disapproval" of his relationship with Olivia. Just let him date who he dates, it's his choice. It'll be ok 🙃
@emilyv.14672 жыл бұрын
As a Harry fan I guess you can say that I "disapproved" this relationship only for the fact that it is not ok to date your boss, just one amazing way to get people to gossip about you and start making crazy assumptions about how you got the job and how much you are being paid and thats exactly what happened isn't it. The main focus of this drama is Harry yes i will agree on that, but for a different reason. Apparently a famous pop star singers can't get an opportunity to do some acting when it comes to HS now.
