I’ve said it before. But the fuzz boost is under rated. It’s smooth. Responsive and it’s insane.

You can still notice it doesn't sound like a real amp, but sure it gets damn close!

is this running direct to the mixer?

What are the settings being used? There are several maps in the manual for different sounds but none are a jazz sound like this.
@Tech21nyc10 жыл бұрын
Rick Willoughby, as you can see, there's a lot of changes being made throughout the playing, so there isn't one specific setting. You can freeze frame during the close ups to get an idea. Even if you follow sample settings exactly, the sound will vary depending on your guitar/other gear and playing style.

So I want to get a male to male xLR coupler to plug into the power engine 60 to ground it. Can I sodder the side not plugged in to got the result needed?
@Tech21nyc10 жыл бұрын
Joe B, Yes you can, but the solder may not stick to the pins. With a standard male XLR plug, we know it'll stick to the contacts. If you need further technical assistance, we recommend emailing us directly.

Can you show us how to use the flyrig 5 with the power engine 60? In the manual you indicated there could be an issue.
@Tech21nyc10 жыл бұрын
Joseph Bertucci, the issue is with the Power Engine's transformer possibly picking up hum from the auto-switching power supply and connecting the ground via the XLR, which is fully explained in the manual. The sonic difference between using a Fly Rig 5 with a Power Engine and going direct would be minimal in a video, however it would probably "feel" different in real life.
@joeb286110 жыл бұрын
Will it sound better overall through the power engine or a small tube amp?
@Tech21nyc10 жыл бұрын
Joseph Bertucci, overall, "better" is a very subjective call. That being said, the Power Engine was designed to complement amp emulators/direct recording devices in that it won't color the sound going into it. A tube amp will color the sound. Naturally, we think the Power Engine would be better, but you would have to try it both ways and decide which you like better.
@eolden7749 Жыл бұрын
I just got the Fly. It is really nice sounding. I think I'll be parting with a lot of pedals and wires.
@SkayyiX6 жыл бұрын
does it make a difference if you put the Fuzz pedal before the flyrig ?
@Tech21nyc6 жыл бұрын
It certainly does. With the fuzz before the Fly Rig, you get the Hot/Boost, overdrive, SansAmp and delay all affecting the fuzz tone. With it after, all that tone-shaping comes first, and it should sound very different (especially the delay running into the fuzz). It's really a matter of personal taste. You can try it both ways if everything is running to an amplifier, If there's no amp and you're going straight to the PA, the fuzz can't come after... it will sound very harsh and "buzzy" --unless that's what you want. :-)
