Love this little bass box!! If you're tired of not truly "hearing" yourself on stage, this is for you, especially if you play direct. It gives you every possible tone you're looking for and even provides sample bass tones from well-known bassists in the instructions. The guitar player in my group even said, "I can actually hear you now." Felt great to hear that after months of being unable to hear myself. At home, this little guy really pumps up the sound coming out of my Hartke. All I can say is, I agree with all the positive reviews here. This little box is worth every penny. Thank you, Tech 21 and Sweetwater for brightening my bass player days ahead!! :)

There's no shame in asking questions ) This pedal is a preamp, it means that you can use it with another device called power amp, then you have a complete bass amp. A power amp gives power&watts, a preamp gives a tone.Now this pedal is also a DI ( direct input) it means you can plug the bass on the input of this pedal then you take the output straight to the mixboard, a PA system. now, this pedal can also work as regular stampbox, you can put it in effects loop of your amp to overdrive the sound

years I struggled with bass tone ... if I got the high end sounding great the low end suffered and vice-versa BUT NOW I've learned the best bass tone and situation is two signals one has all low-end the other all high and the low end signal use good compression and the high side use a good over drive dialed in to fit the style music. Then you sum them together boom you have a great clear controlled tone

@sweetwater5 жыл бұрын
Hello, Tex! The footswitch on the pedal just turns off the EQ and tone shaping functions, but it will function as a DI box to send your signal out to the soundboard. A DI box turns your high impedance, low level guitar signal into a balanced, line level signal that you can send longer cable lengths, and plug into balanced inputs on a board. Check out this article about the differences between Active and Passive DI boxes, that will help explain some more stuff, too. :) www.sweetwater.com/insync/what-is-the-difference-between-an-active-and-a-passive-di-box/ Thanks for the interest! this is like the bass equivalent of EMG pickups. Whatever you put into it, it's gonna sound like a sansamp. Hi squidman97! The SansAmp Bass Driver DI delivers the warmth and presence of a miked bass amp, in a convenient direct box format. Use it as a stompbox, a preamp, or a DI onstage and in the studio, for all the tonal variation you need! It can dial up big vintage tube tones, modern slap sounds, gnarly distortions, and everything in between. Three different outputs allow you to drive power amps, recording consoles, or PA mixers. Bassists, this little black box will change your perception of amp emulators - for the better! Does that help?

can I use this on a fender rumble 15 v3?
@2chinggis7 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, just set all the EQ on the amp to as flat as possible (probably 12 o'clock) and use the pedal as a preamp - for the first time, start with the amp volume set low until you know what to expect. If possible, spend a bit more and get the programmable version: then you can easily switch between your favorite sounds without having your amp right next to you. I have one and it has really transformed the sound from my amp ( Phil Jones Bass Cub). It makes me want to play more.

Will this work fine with an active bass? I've read that active di boxes go better with passive basses.

+NeedyForMusic I use the 3-channel programmable version of this on an active bass and it works great!

A year later... but. In my personal experience this pedal is great for active basses. I've also owned the VT pedal, and it did not jive with my stingray, but was great with passive basses.

sounds like 2012, I don't know why people still love those boxes so much

for us non-bassists, it's easier to have a box that does a workable, easy bass tone than spending hours tweaking shit to get your bass to sound right.

Great product but 250€? Just get a Behringer BDI21. Doesn't sound the same but it's good for the money.
