No joke, my seventh grade English teacher would confiscate any tech deck boards from students and mount them up on the top of his whiteboard, all uniformly lined up one by one and open for everyone to see. It was in his course syllabus and everything. A few students even brought in tech decks just for the sake of having them added to his collection. By the time I graduated from high school, he had been promoted to principal of that middle school.

Tech Deck Dudes were my favorite toys as a kid. Since there was no defined story, I was able to make them up as I went along. I took inspiration from the games and had my story take place in Freaktown with Jack being the main character. I lost many along the way, but it was a good time, and good memories. I recognized a bunch from the video and remembered how they fit into my little story.

This just suddenly reminded me of my wood shop teacher 4 or 5 years back that had some wood scraps sitting on the demo table to something about the table saw on our current project. It was just a block of wood but he just starting going off about how important it is to not always just ditch scraps because "they can be useful to plenty of things, like adding to the project, or inspiration for a new one or-" And then he just pulls a Tech Deck out of his pocket and grinds off the side of this wood block- "as a new piece to add with your half pipe." Being someone who always wanted to be able to do tricks on a board, but can't even pull off an ollie, I must admit that the longboard definitely is a great board if you just want to get from point A to B. Due to it's softer and larger wheels, it's a hell of a lot smoother than a regular board. If you want to start boarding but don't want to eat pavement, buy a longboard. You won't regret it.

We’d put on magnets we collect from different places we visit; however, we always had this weird figure with a green mask on the top of the fridge. I always wondered what the heck it was. I had the set with the loop. If I remember correctly, the two that came with that set were much heavier than the regular tech deck dudes so they'd be able to build the momentum to make the loop. And none of the regular tech deck dudes could ever make that loop

Hey Billiam, I remember a toy that has a cylindrical shape which can be made into a necklace, those toys if you press down on one end of them they spin, and the jest of it is to see which one spins the longest or even use them as a bowling game. Each cylindrical toy had a unique design so it kind of had a collect them all element. I can't remember their name but if you could cover them that would be great !

So I finally learned the name of it, but there was a virtual pet toy called Miuchiz from the early 2000's that was also an MMO. I had this fire pet variant back in the day, but they had connections between Bratz and other properties. I've never met anyone else that knew about it, so I always thought it was a weird fever dream for the longest time. Might be an interesting thing to look at if you get the time.

I actually had the blue hoodie tech deck dude that was always prominent in the commercials as a kid. I wanted to collect more but that never happened. Kinda wish I could collect them now.

As a kid we had a pair of extra wheels so I made a Tech Deck with part of a paint stir stick and use sand paper for the top

I used to see commercials for these on Cartoon Network and i, being a little girl who liked cute stuff at that time, was not the target demographic for these but O MAN do i have deep core memories of seeing these guys and desperately wanting one to chew on.

Man I sucked with tech decks, too. My friend had a whole room in his house with three our four large folding tables covered with a connected tech deck skate park. He was much better at tech deck and skateboarding than myself. He actually got a real full scale half pipe in his backyard toward the end of middle school while I got a 16x16 wrestling ring.
