I'm a fan of music, period. From Lil Wayne to DMX to Tim McGraw. Tech N9ne has some of the best MUSIC I've ever heard, hands down. Lyrically, the beats, the tone of the songs, how everything comes together to match the focus of the song...it's unmatched. And this is coming from the dirty, dirty South...Louisiana!

Ive seen Yates 7 times. Met him twice, huge following in Seattle. Seen him go through alot, from anghellic and absolute through Killer. The special thing with Yates that separates him from any other hip hop or rap artist is his heart and independence. He stayed true to his style despite the criticism. And he was the most toured artist behind Jay z... Indie... So, Im not god and Im no MC so Im not here to compare Tech to Eminem or anyone else. All I have to say is this. You want to find out why Yates is who he is, stand on the railing of the upper level at the Moore Theater and have him put his hand out towards you while he spits This Ring Live. A lot of rappers sound dope on you tube or ipod. Its a rare breed whom can put it down on a stage and do it for real. Miss me with computerized garbage. Show me what you can do on stage with a mic. And that where Yates is truly King.

His sadder/deeper songs always remind me of the interlude in Torrid: "My pain lessens theirs because it puts who they put on a pedestal on a level playing field with them." I'd never wish what he's gone through on anyone, but it helps to know that he's willing to share his hardships with us and to be able to relate to what he's feeling instead of him just playing it off like he's a happy go lucky rich celebrity like most others do. It's easier to relate to celebs when they show that they're relateable

Every now and then I get on here and have tech marathon days going back and listening to all those first albums and songs that got me hooked. And this one always hits me just as it did the first time I heard it. I was homeless and man talk about low. I was simply erased from my life. My 2 sisters, who knew me better than anyone; having spent 30+ years right by my side, turned their backs on me without so much as a reason. They have not cared if I am dead or alive ever since. But tech and Krizz wrote my pain and I have gotten to know them both and we have had some really deep conversations. They are well aware how their music affects us and they are honored to know it. Technicians connect on many levels but one thing is for sure; our pain is expressed through their music. Our pain may come from different places but doesnt pain = pain = pain, right?!!! That's why I started Tech n9ne talk on Fb. Because when we share a lil of our pain we find out that we are not alone, and that is Validating. Love you guys.

Tech isn't really underground, but he isn't mainstream either. He created his own fame from scratch by producing his own music with his own production company (Strange Music). The fact that he was able to achieve what he did without any major labels proves that he in deed is THE ONLY one that can master this game. He has style, he has a banging flow, and raps from the heart unlike any other rapper I've ever heard. TECH N9NA'S FOR LIFE!
