Vlad For the next interview you upload with Tech N9ne, you really need to ask him about how he was influenced by West Coast Hip-hop, and how both Kansas City and Detroit were highly influenced by West Coast Hip-hop as well. Because that is something I have been really dying to hear him speak on for a long time now, and plus a lot of people fail to mention that most of the time. Also, ask him about how he first met and learned about Jay Rock and how he ended up signing him to his label, and what his current relationship with Jay Rock is right now. That would be really amazing to see, and I know a lot of people would love to see that as well.

@michaele2148
@michaele2148 6 жыл бұрын
Well I can just go ahead and solve that mystery for you right now....The reason why Kansas City is heavily influenced by bay area rap is because there is a large drug pipeline that has existed for years between the two areas. In the south like Mississippi Baton Rouge Little rock you tend to see a lot of LA guys out there... but for some reason Bay Area and KC have been tight since the early 90s. The gang structure in KC isn’t like how it is in LA despite the Bs and Cs. And also because Bay Area and Sacramento street rappers are usually authentic.... so they were actually going out of town to KC and also brought their music with them....

Just a clarification, as far as a couple of conversations going on. Just because an LA gang set up shop in a city doesn't mean the dudes who were already there were soft or got pushed over. I just think that some cities and areas were more organized, and had an infrastructure in place. Sometimes the LA gang was just more organized. Kids are gonna gravitate to structure. Sometimes they had deeper pockets. It could be anything. But it doesn't mean they were soft...
@djbop
@djbop 6 жыл бұрын
Dogs And Yoga the dudes there weren't soft that's why we fit in so well. A lot of those dudes became like family. I still hang with those same guys today. But they're all Bloods now and been banging it since we came there in 86.
@dogsandyoga1743
@dogsandyoga1743 6 жыл бұрын
DJ BOP Yeah. It was less like a takeover, and more like an intermingling. That comment was kinda in response to the arguments that was happening on another post. I'm from Oakland. So when we say that Cs and Bs never set up shop here, it shouldn't be looked at like saying that other cities lile Seattle, Sacramento, KC etc...were letting outsiders come in and takeover. I admit, I used to think of it like that. But my cousin from Sac interviewed one of their blood OGs for his radio show and dude broke down how it was some guys from LA who had bread, and the connections. Not to mention, the culture and style of LA banging was really attractive to dudes. So it was a natural progression. It's not like an LA gang could sustain a war with dudes 400 miles away. They would get washed. But if you win them over, that's a different story.
@dogsandyoga1743
@dogsandyoga1743 5 жыл бұрын
@Krazy Emmett Yeah. I don't ever recall there ever being a "war" up here in Oakland. I was a little kid in the 80s and that's the ONLY time I heard about crips trying to move in. The Town was far to established and guys were getting paid here already. The main reason guys from LA were migrating, was dope. And we (they) already had structure. It was probably just a "thank you, but no thank you" type of thing here.

Antonio McCray Largest gang in Florida The Latin Kings began spreading into Central Florida by the mid-1990s. "The LKs first hit Florida about the same time gangs exploded in America," said George W. Knox, director of the National Crime Gang Research Center. "The Latin Kings are known for the accentuation effect. They go to extreme lengths to draw more attention with pure brutality." According the state Department of Corrections, the Latin Kings now have 1,000 members in the Florida prison system -- hundreds more than the next largest gangs, the Bloods with about 700 and Gangster Disciples with about 600.

Not true KCMO was hot before Cali came. We were just groups like RED BOYS and don't know the other side. Then I hooked up with a guy who was Aries and I started REDRAM on 56th Norton back in 87

doobie dudley He is, his label is worth $20M and his personal networth is around $10M. Personally I don't listen to his music but he's been grinding for decades including touring all the time, selling albums independently, and selling a whole lot of merch.

Everyone is baffled that there are bloods and crips in KC but just wait til they learn that we have them here in Wichita too, a city with half the population of KC. They don't do much though to be fair.

Actually dude the 316, the dub k, Wichita whatever you want to call it has more people than Kansas City, because KC is KCK and KCMO two cities two states. Most just say it's one city. So, tell me how one city can be in two states and still be considered as a single city? You can't that's why

@@robdryer8700 you never heard of the greater city? The metro is the population of all suburbs connecting to one city. You can have one greater city in multiple states lmao… wichitas metro population is 650k Kansas City’s is 2.4million. That’s not close.

Wichita is interesting because it’s so backwater and country..people aspire to move to KCMO or KCK. I spent a weekend there and it was like 2006, I visited in 2016. I was elated to return to the town..😂
