I turned mine in and bought another one, this time I mounted it so it lays on the dash, with a cloth folded under it for a cushion, I only use the USB for power, and it has been a few months of no problems, Just an update to share.Works great!

I sure wish Garmin or someone would put out a solid GPS. We'd pay the dang money. Apparently these companies don't listen to their customers. There technology is 12 years old! Ridiculous.

What I find interesting is the atlas in the overdryve shows new roads yet the gps map doesn’t show those same roads. For example, I69 south of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Great review, I bought mine for 300 off of Facebook marketplace. My main problem with it is it takes priority over every other device I have hooked up to my phones bluetooth. I like to stream spotify from my phone to my truck stereo and it ends up coming through the shitty tablet speakers

To keep your table full battery connect another USB cable direct to the tablet is going works pretty good no freeze not drain battery tablet is going works very well

....I guess I’m going with garmin 785 this time!! I have the tnd80 and it’s a POS, it only lasted 2yrs and the damm thing doesn’t even start the software anymore, I was thinking no buying the overdrive pro 8 but it seems they haven’t fix the power issues with their tablet gps! I’ll put my money elsewhere this time, thanks man

My brother has had issues with his Pro 8, the mount sucks, the small weak plastic clips that hold it to the window mount break off from the truck vibration. He is on his second mount with it. Also same problems with the charger. Also as Cotter Pin says it is too bad that Rand Mcnally keeps the trucking atlas as proprietary and not let it be a download that could be put on a iPad!!

Could you plz explain how to update/ reset ? Bcz When i type an adresse it takes a while to display & slow Storage 52% used , is there any way to free up space by resetting ? Thx to reply.

The tabs on my mount I’ve already broken and 21 days of use it keep shutting off on me all day long it’s a lot of money for the way that it’s manufactured I think the vibration is so that I can absorb From falling off of the magnetic mount like the others have done such as the tablet eight I have a 30 day return policy on this at the TA truckstop’s with nine days left and I’m taking mine back tonight when I go past a TA truckstop not sure what I’m going to get

I've been split on either the 740 or Overdryve 8, I do like the idea of having the atlas on the tablet a long with SiriuXm, but I wasn't sure about all of the other stuff. Thanks for the review!

The camera is draining your battery. The quick map and resolution is definitely NOT the issue. Try reducing the resolution of your recordings and limiting the record memory

I have a question, why can’t I find addresses on my Overdrive that I can find on google earth, Waze, and google maps? Do I need to be connected to a mobile hotspot.

Do yourself a favor, look up all of your addresses in Google earth on a laptop. It's a free download. Zoom in and find the driver entranceway. Place a pushpin in the driver entranceway where you want your truck to pass when entering the facility, then right-click the pushpin and choose properties from the context menu. When the properties dialogue box appears, you can see the GPS coordinates for that pushpin. Enter those GPS coordinates into whatever GPS device you are using and then route to them, and your GPS device will lead you to that exact location where you placed the pushpin.

No WiFi required for GPS to work. It should pull up addresses without WiFi.

I sent my base and GPS never got base back there junk they said there was a back order 4 years ago and now they don't even offer the charger base it was a waste of 800 it's a paper weight that cost 800

Get you some heavy duty clear velcro strips like they use on the easy pass and put it on your dash or windshield and just use the mini USB to charge it forget the satellite radio mount

Curtis Erecacho @curtis Erecacho. I’m still playing with mine. As a motor coach driver, I’m all over Canada and the eastern US. This was the best unit so far in three I bought but it tends to send me to roads that are heavy with traffic. It sucked in Montreal but worked well in New York. Weird.

@@davidchisholm7190 mine likes to go off the highway just to get back on 2 miles later. Doesn't work too well in texas. They build so many new roads I don't think the gps can add them fast enough. I don't understand the point of the Antenna if I still need to connect to wifi for live traffic and updates.... I'll look into that.

I had to give up on rand mcnally I. Loved it when it worked it's more user friendly than garmin but i had to go with with garmin cause i got sick of rand mcnally bullcrap see the gps would work fine for awhile then it lose gps signal and could be gone as much as hour b4 i got back i called rand mcnally their fix was bull crap try to tell me my ezpass or prepass was inter fear with signal I tried move it to number of spots still same thing then then have do some changes with software still same prob but my garming I took out of box put on window and never fail me and it sits right near my ezpass and prepass and it finds my address most of time I would love to get rand mcnally again but they just make junk I paid $600.00 for peice of junk tablet

The tablet 80 is just as clear I just bought a TND85 the mapping is horrible the worst of all of them and I've owned 5 different models it will completely send you out of route I'm sending my 80 in to be fixed and not use this junk

I personally bought this product and it is a piece of crap because the battery does not last it is extremely frustrating so I got rid of it and what would a different brand with a battery that lasts a lot longer than these guys they deliberately put cheap batteries in their product they know that these batteries are not going to withstand the test of time they don't care because when the battery goes bad they want you to come by another one of their products it's not happening with me folks the battery is just as important as the product itself and then they're not equally yoked the product itself is crap it's not worth anything to me you can have the best product in the world with a bad battery it ain't worth nothing
