So it's basically starship mechanics for on foot battles at a bigger scale. I gotta get some mechs in my campaign, this sounds like it makes combat absolutely bonkers! My only wish now is for Galactic Magic to bring rules in for spellcasters being able to cast starship scale spells and by that logic mech scale spells. Let's turn magic missile into Magic Intercontinental Ballistic Cruise Missile!

I've been waiting for this to hit AoN. The different scales means I can make a Voltronesque gargantuan combiner bot "made of" the parties smaller mechs. WE NEED MEGAZORD POWER NOW!! And I'm here for it. As far as the repairs go.. I'm going the "We got a guy for that" option. An affiliated mechanic of some sort, whose shop they could leave mechs at for awhile. Maybe a faction sponsor or something.

I do not understand the damage of mech weapons. What does it mean by: Low, Medium, or high damages in numbers on the dice?

Now a question I have is do your operators have the same initiative as your mech or is it different meaning there's a possibility for your mech to never get to use that standard action because your operator is below the mech

It will be which ever is higher, pilot skill or mech tier i believe

It would be really challenging for players on foot to fight a mech, it would be more for mech vs mech/giant beast Pacific Rim style

No, damage is damage, but mechs can have a lot more firepower than your "average guard"

I really think i won't ever find a plausible excuse to throw in mechas on my game, but if i see an opportunity, i'm damn sure i'll put the party into a robot and make them scream about drilling holes into the sky with manlyness and bravado while punching another machine's face. The only situation i can think when they can use such tech would be something like an excavation mecha or just some ancient military technology in the hands of an organization that doesn't have the resources to repair it yet, something like Liberty Prime from Fallout or something.

Or maybe just the classic "let's punch this giant alien monster in the face", wich always works with 0 probability of not being cool.

If you really want to you could use the rules for Battletech since those are the best mech rules IMO. Plus then you have models/maps you can use as assets. One way to do this would be to take the crewmember rules and apply that to actions still. You can move and fire a weapon system but you need more crewmembers for more actions than that. This way people can have their own mech or have a few higher crewed ones for the benefits.

There isn't a specific rule set for it that i saw, but I would make something up.

@@TheMapleTable The vehicle rules could be leveraged for this where it comes to ramming, where the targets can make a fairly easy Reflex save to completely avoid dmg. That's if the PCs want to risk falling dmg to their mech in the 1st place. :)
