The layout and design of this series reflects - finally - that SOMEONE LISTEND TO THE PLAYERS! I think EVERY issue I have had have been _properly_ addressed. The ergonomics could not be better, the _only_ thing 'missing' is the pair of XLR outs on the expensive (and MUCH heavier) YC88. Kudos to your design team, mine will be deliverd in a couple days. The last time I was THIS excited about a new keyboard was getting my first Arp 2600... Thanks SO much, folks.

Fortunately you only gripe with the CK, the unbalanced outs can be rectified with a relatively inexpensive dual passive DI box, and two short unbalanced cables - estimated cost $40 or £40 or 40 euros

Finally a SMOOTH workflow with GREAT bread and butter sounds in a convenient package with no fluff or deep menu diving. Had a MODX, which is a fantastic synth at a fair price, but the navigation / programming / sequencer were overwhelming to me and somehow restrained my creativity - despite inspiring sounds. Having an affordable mobile solution that sounds great out of the box + a master keyboard + an audio interface + speakers in this price range is a no-brainer. I like this kinda vintage design as well and totally dig the overdriven Rhodes sounds. Order placed for the 61, can't wait to put my hands on this little beast, plug in my guitar and record stellar sounding tracks straight into Logic ready for mixing. Kudos to Yamaha!

great device but Yamaha please You should add next time for CK a recorder section for song writers and 12w built in speakers . bigger screen and a wider and expanded session of voices { more realistic as the DGX 670 has} , also a larger synth options, plus 73 keys. thank you Yamaha . note: I believe the bass sound in general is lacking of power {low eq} in the CK is not strong maybe is bc it has only 6w speaker, you should work in getting better quality sound for next time. thanks

Is it possible to configure so that external keyboard control layer A and external keyboards sustain pedal works independenlty? So basically I can use the other sustain pedal connected to CK61 and that will affect only channel B or/and C. CK61 is an absolute beast. I love it. So intuitive, fast to use and easy to pick to go.

Hi there I am new to keyboards. Trying to set my modx 8 to my laptop. What the best cable to use. Also I am using Nanohost to run a pluggin for the vst vox continental used by The Doors and can not get the sound of the vox continental coming out threw my keyboard. Or so not sure how to setup the ulility mudi I/O Can you help please. Ty.

Very interested for traveling but for a stage piano, there seems to be no videos showing the sound of the pianos just by themselves sustained without cutoff endings because of video editing or without them covered in pads or effects. Is there a way you can do a video of the pianos in isolation? Same with Organs being highlighted solo. IMO the quality of those two things would be the strongest selling point of a stage piano with organ draw bars. Also is the piano sample set the same as the montage or modx?

I think the piano is better than that of the MODX. I'm not sure about the MONTAGE. Moreover, the CK series is a model after the CP88 Stage Piano and the YC organ version

Great product. Couple of questions: 1) Since the CK does not have a sequencer and arpeggiator, I was wondering If CK gives the ability to play external hardware synths (for example I have the Korg Minilogue and OP-1 Field) without going through a computer? 2) I have many apps in my iPhone (drums, synths, etc), can I use the CK to play those sounds?… if yes, how do I do it? If your answers to the above are yes, then the CK will be an amazing and way better option than getting a Nord Stage 4. Your feedback will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Ad 1) Since 20 years and more keyboards with midi in/out can do so : just connect midi in to out and vice versa Ad 2) they are talking and mentioned the dedicated usb/midi - interface - just via bluetooth but you can use as well a normal usb camera connection kit to do so

Hey Yamaha, nice concept with these sections like the Nords but …to be honest, for the basic models 88 are the GHS keys not good … after a while you can have noisy keys, plastic noise, also the playability is not ok (over time)… it is all about quality I think. I used in the past a P95 for practice but I don’t recommend this GHS for studying music. Should be nice for all the keys in this price range to have the same keys that Roland is using for there products … feels more realistic … and stable, feels good

This Yamaha has a good sound, but I'm not going to play on such a small keyboard live for fun. I don't do that. The 88 is good but the touch is heavier and I can't tolerate that for my hands. I also don't understand why Yamaha only has a 61 with a light touch, the question will increase if the 88 also has a light touch.

The action on the CK-88 and even on the Montage 8 are nowhere near good enough for serious piano playing. I went to NAMM 2023 specifically to check on these actions and walked away very disappointed. I really wanted to replace my MP11se with a Montage 8 but that's not gonna happen anytime soon.

Solution…. Invest in a Studiologic SL 73 & then connect/ midi to CK61. My present setup.

@@derekbaynes I've been searching for the right digital piano action for over 20 years and have owned 9 different digital pianos during that time. I often perform on a friend's 9' Steinway but don't have room for a nice grand at home. I absolutely love the action on the Kawai MP11se that I currently have in my living room but would also like to have a good workstation. I'd prefer not to have multiple large keyboards in my living room and was hoping the "piano feel" of the Montage 8 would be good enough so I wouldn't need to keep the MP11se just for piano playing. I've come to accept the fact that nothing is gonna replace the MP11se. I'm setting up a second system with a Montage 7 and a Korg PA4X in my family room. I'd describe the Montage 8 action as heavy synth action, not "realistic piano feel". I can play piano parts for recording but not for performance. I hope that helps.

I think the sound is very good, but why not an 88 with a light touch, so this one is not of much use to me. And I'm not going to stand on stage with a 61 mini keyboard. I also want playing comfort and don't want to make mini movements when I'm playing. Why not an 88 with a light touch, then I want it.

When I make live music, I also want to be able to play with enough space for my hands. 61 keys on such a light weight keyboard are not ideal. I can already see the bowl shaking on all sides. And I have to frantically play small. Too bad the sound is very good but the keyboard is too small. I'll go for the 88 if it also has a light touch, otherwise I'll continue looking.

What about CP88 for $2599 with only 57 sounds or YC88 for $3149 with 190 sounds
