Tech Tip - Compressor Speed Control

The Danfoss/Secop BD35 and BD50 compressors are variable speed compressors and can operate between 2000 and 3500 RPM. The longer and slower a compressor runs, the more efficient it will be, so it is advantageous to run be able to run at the slowest speed possible. This video describes the different forms of speed control available from Coastal Climate Control.

Danfoss/Secop have 48volt version of this compressor availalbe for a long time but nobody makes a consumer product for marine, rv or off-grid that supports 48v. Does anyone know why that is?
