@@hvacwithdrewman98 it won't stay in hi stage, it keeps coming up with a different reason to stay in low. First it said the hi pressure switch was open, This last time it said the high stage contactor was stuck but it doesn't even have one, I changed the board and model plug and reinstalled the system. It was running in hi when I left We shall see if it stays. The back story I got was that a company was out there to replace a leaking evaporator. Then soon after this all started and the next guy took his original t stat and gave him a different one but was supposed to bring it back and never did yadayadayada lol

@@fuzzyvision1219 sounds like the model plug is the problem. I haven't seen that issue yet... LOL.. I'm curious now so let me know if that took care of it

He called again, its not faulting now it says it's running hi stage but the indoor temp in the evening says otherwise smh

I don't work on these much but the ecm fam motor wasn't coming on, I was testing the red and blue thinking it was 24v ac, then checked dc and was getting 0.5 so im going to replace board. Compressor kicks on and i have high voltage to the other 2 wires going to fan ecm.

Can the carrier condenser operate without the A&B communication? I had the furnace replaced with a different brand and they installed a new t-stat without communication. Now there’s no reading at the condenser on A&B

Yes it can.. next to the ABCD plug there is a set of terminals to wire it up for no communication..

I have one with a highstage lock out the compressor never runs but amps at 56 amps for like 4 seconds then cuts off it doesn't have a relay like the one in this video do you believe its the compressor

So when I get the code for a low contactor shorted, it means grounded compressor?

It will usually lead to the compressor... Look on the board, you will see I believe L1 and L2. If that gets power without a call for cooling it will that shorted contactor... One side of the contactor always has power going through it, if the windings short, it'll get picked up at the board
