Welcome back to another Tech Tip Tuesday here at Holy Moly Outdoors. Today we are at episode 25 if you can believe it, and with Daylight savings time upon us, I found it fitting to jump ahead to a fun springtime fishery that is just about ready to get going. We are talking kokanee fishing. Some of the best eating fish you can find! What is fun about today's episode is we are taking a look at a fun specific multi species, multi use lure and how to modify it for targeting kokanee on the water. We will break down the lure and how it looks in and out of the package, and how to rig it to put more fish in your boat. Thanks for stopping by to watch!

I have hundreds of dollars worth of kokanee gear stored in several tackle boxes. The past few years, this is the only kokanee lure I really use. The half blue/silver is great, and the new hammered copper is killer! I especially like these 20" behind a Simon flasher. I use a 4mm bead between the lure and hooks, and then a clear, gem-cut 4mm glass bead between the two hooks. Single piece of corn on each hook and limits out every time - doesn't matter which lake. Supporting a Washington-based, local company is icing on the cake.

They work great. I use them all the time rigged up both ways. They do catch fish.

Last September on Lake Cavanaugh we rigged the pink ones Kokanee style, paired them up with a Yakima bait fast limit dodger, tipped them with corn and murdered the Kokanee.

We used them on lake sammamish this winter... they work.. they catch the smaller fish... the old goat produced more and bigger fish hands down.

Folks can attach the God's Tooth spoons together to create a "jointed spoon" for a larger presentation.

What about behind a dodger?

They work great behind a dodger. Very effective flipped as the double hook rig for kokanee or straight out of the package for trout.

How about bank fishing them for steelhead

They are maybe 2 inches in length. More of a trout spoonn. Not to say they couldn't catch a steelhead but probably best suited for the lakes and rivers. Pink salmon like them casted and retrieved like a dick nite

Just some honest feedback... One of the things I look for when I'm searching for a video about a tip, technique, piece of gear or whatever is a video that gets to the point. If it says "how to rig ___" I expect the video to talk about that topic. In your video, you spent exactly two minutes of 10:43 actually showing how to rig the spoon for kokanee. The rest of the video was an ad for the spoons. That's okay, but consider doing your endorsement stuff after the core subject is covered. Overall, it's a nice video - just needs a little focus.
