Best setup video I’ve seen so far. Very thorough. Other unboxing and setup videos were quite lacking in setup info. The only other thing I would have liked to have seen is a little more demonstration of app functionality. Specifically room selection. When the vacuum is on its initial mapping run, I’m guessing we just let it run all over the house, then designate the rooms later. Regardless, good job on this video!

I just bought my S9+ and can not get it to map correctly it will clean part of a room then head somewhere else and I have a small kitchen with an island and it only cleaned the front but never went around the island. This is very disappointing as I've watched many youtube videos showing how easy it is. ????

... I noticed that the small wheel at the back of the robot wasn't turning well. As I've had two catastrophic experiences with this model, I checked my other broken s9+ and the wheel on that rotated freely. so I pulled the pin (axle) out of the wheel and guess what? - it's bent. My partner says that it wold take a massive force to bend the pin and I believe it is highly unlikely to have happened in use of the robot. Can you check to see whether your wheel is turning freely?

Great video, however I understand 9s+ series can 'block' areas. It would have been nice to have had that demonstrated.

I could not open the filter door. There was ver noticeable resistance. I finally had to use a knife to pry it open. I thought there should be a filter door release button.

wow. So its designed in such a way that you would need to constantly buy spare parts and bags etc.. :x Dock alone could be designed in similar way like dyson vacuums. Just remove waste container, then press a button and dump all debri into trash.

its a problem within pcb on s9+, they are replacing your robot with a new one. Just got mine as well. Often known problem, same procedure to fix everywhere.

Video is very good but it doesn't say how to do a first time "Full Clean". Do I do this in the app or a button on the RS9 + ??

You'll want to let the S9+ do it's initial mapping run as mentioned in the above setup video. Once that's done, you can use the Clean button on the S9+ itself or start the task from the app.

There's not a setting to set which direction mopped, but the unit shouldn't be leaving obvious streaks. We recommend reaching out directly to iRobot Customer Care directly at bby.me/pfkiw4 for specific help with your unit.

I am having trouble mapping my s9 Roomba. We have thick areas rugs and hardwood floors. I want the s9 to clean the hardwood floors but not the rugs because it seems to be having difficulty on them. How do I get them to avoid the rugs. It seems to be going over the same areas and not doing the whole condo. Not real happy with my purchase so far but it is probably operator error. I have had it since August and have only been able to have it clean 2 of my 5 rooms. Sometimes it says it was unable to complete the vacuuming, don't know why. It just stops.

You can create Keep Out zones in the app. I have several and it works just fine.

I bought one (Chistmas) directly from iRobot and still haven't used it because nothing happens when I try to pair it. And by nothing happens I mean when I hold the two buttons down to begin the pairing process Nothing Ever Happens, there is no sound and no pairing, nothing. I talked to iRobot 3 times now and I end up getting disconnected or they say they will call me back but never do. Also, nothing ever happens during the (over the phone) troubleshooting. The reset and battery removal does nothing.

Typically you can do that by putting your Roomba in standyby mode and then pressing and holding the CLEAN button until all indicators turn off.

iRobot is the worst company with the worst product. ZERO customer support. Multiple calls to troubleshoot issues, yet never any results. Then they blame YOU. I wouldn't even recommend to my worst enemy.

Personally, I had very good experience with them. The first one I got would not pair, so I called customer support and she had me go through some steps and determined that it wasn't working properly. She had me box it up and sent a return label to print out. They picked it up and sent me a new one which worked perfectly. Very nice on the phone and fixed the problem.
