Hey Lindy, ya probably don't remember me- Alan Hehe from Vero Beach, Florida? Anyway, I talked w/ you 4 awhile back in May '11, trying to decide what comb. of Split-Blade PUs to put in my Tele. I ended up choosing a white Blues spec 4 the neck and a black H.Output 4 the bridge. I wanted to say that it was a great combo, especially in middle position. Those were the best sounding PUs I ever heard, so thanks! Good video, but it makes me glad I have locking tuners on my new Strat!

You should have the strings low on the peg, it is solid there. High it pulls on the peg with less help from the wood.

Mike Hickey - Joe Bonamassa's tech guy - uses the same way to put on new strings. Seems to be pretty quick and efficient.

Nice video, Lindy. How did you take all six strings off of a guitar with a floating bridge without the bridge changing position? Is the bridge blocked?

does not change position unless he changes gauge.. Its a myth.

Why is bridge pickup angled that way? Why make low E even lower -when high E gets even higher and ice-picky?

***** Made a research; Bridge single coil pickups on guitars have been angled that way since dirt. It's because steelguitar -and Fenderamps in the 40's and early 50's had poor bass -and treble functions. On guitars, that certain move had to be done to make it work with those amps at the time.

Lindy Fralin Pickups i made some with the bridge pup reversed and that made a pretty big difference. that lower strings are tighter and the higher ones are fuller

Hendrix knew a lot about his guitars. He didn't have a guitar tech. We can see him on pictures while he changes the strings and hold his white strat with one hand by the body bottom !! He had real strong hands. I believe he did just like Clapton did and changed the necks and/or body of his many strats to find the right combination. He modified his tremolo arms with a blow torch too... I think he removed the sharp angle on it since he was playing as a lefty on a righty strat. His pickups were wound by Abigail Yberra according to his specs. Finally, he had only two favorite strats. The olympic white one used in Woodstock and his Blacky (his prefered #1) used at the end of his life at the festival of Isle of White (not sure how to spell that one....). I'm a great fan of Hendrix too Lindy ! He's the one who woke up the devil in me...lol. Take care !
