Well I know you’re going to catch some hell with this one 🤣🤪😂. Best of luck brother

Be careful JD! That anode could be like a virus. Pretty soon you'll grow a carbon seal and it will SINK! LOL! Thanks for posting!

Yo great video the engine needs one too

Probably engine and intercooler should each have one

Sea Doo mount anodes to the ride plate, as well

Yes the one I used here is the one they mount to the ride plate typically

A sea doo part number? 😮 haha cool idea.
@JDsWaterWorld5 ай бұрын
lol trust me I was hesitant to share that info but that anode was the easiest to fit on there

@@JDsWaterWorld 100% understood. Easiest to look up for sure, cool idea for sure

If the ski spends long periods docked in salt water an anode would be a good idea, but seeing as the time it spends out of the water is significantly longer than the time in, I don’t see it having any benefit at all. It’s only going to protect when surrounded by the electrolyte(water) Certainly isn’t going to hurt anything by putting one on 😊 I see much more benefit coating the pump in crc soft seal (permanent waxy coating that dries to the touch) to stop the corrosion that happens when the ski is out of the water.
@JDsWaterWorld5 ай бұрын
The harmful corrosion actually forms between the pump housing and the wear ring / pump liner so cannot be treated externally or by spraying pump body. The only hope would be that while the ski is in the water the anode will prevent corrosion inside the liner...
@st56374 ай бұрын
The Sea Doo idea of a replaceable plastic ring is a good idea as ingested hard debris is not so catastrophic!
@diva.scenes5 ай бұрын
i dont think this will have much effect, zinc and aluminium are too close. Aluminium is less noble than stainless, you think zinc will avoid the aluminium to be the anode for the liner? Not sure on this. You got to update us on this over time 😊
@JDsWaterWorld5 ай бұрын
You are not wrong- I would have preferred an aluminum anode but could not find one the right size...but even so, figured it was worth a shot
@JDsWaterWorld5 ай бұрын
For what it's worth, most outboard engines are made of aluminum and have zinc anodes...the zinc is about 30% less noble than the aluminum

Much reason to have these anodes in fresh water only application, are there cases of ring swelling in fresh water?
@JDsWaterWorld5 ай бұрын
No, the pump housings will last 1,000 hrs in fresh water

Did I hear Sea-Doo? oh yeah.. little by little i'm going to convert you. Now i know why you were looking at my anodes the other day.. 😂🤣🤡 Sea-Doo's also have an anode on the intercooler (I believe) and one other. I believe we have 3 in total.

Hahah SeaDoo would have to personally call me, apologize for screwing me as a kid when my 1998 GTX sank, and then reimburse me and provide me with a free RXPX 325..that's the only way I'd ever give them another chance. Also I'd have to learn everything all over again cause I only know how to work on Kawis lol
@JDsWaterWorld5 ай бұрын
Yeah any part that has coolant in it would have an anode probably

Don't worry about the Sea Doo part infecting the Kawi. I added a Sea Doo resonator from a 98 Sea Doo onto the exhaust of my Kawi STX 160s. Kawi went cheap a few years ago and eliminated the second waterbox so the 160 is louder. Wanted to hear the LX sound system better so was trying make ski quieter. Resonator was easier than adding second waterbox. The resonator helped. (Still added an amplifier later). I did the LX first and could tell zero performance deterioration vs the X model. Preferred the quieter exhaust sound so I added a resonator to my X also. Hundreds of hours later they are still pure KAWASAKI RELIABLE! Neither has sank
