The port must also be used to constantly charge the watch in the Apple Store on the interactive display models. If you notice, they don't have a standard charger under them, so there must be a cable running through the strap to the port.

Just took the little port cover off there is a 6 pin port but you can't plug an apple charge cable into it.

seems like its a service port for when the watches hard crash take it to apple store and thats how they repair also you cant do a charging band since the ports are deeper than the band it would not slide in

I dont think they will make a secondary battery as the port was definatly not made for it. and if, it would be the only thing its usefull for, because all it is, is the Programming JTAG Port.
