I know I’m VERY late, but for example your Apple Watch is malfunctioning, you take out to the Apple Store and they will plug a special Diagnostic Testing cable into the port to see what’s wrong and get all details about the watch.

Great video, I've known of the port for a long time, though I've never tried to acces mine. Note that the port isn't exclusive to the series 2 model as the title seems to indicate. Every model, starting with the original apple watch, aka series 0, has come with the port on it.
