I've been waiting for the video. What happens in case one can't get a multicore cable? Can one combine several cat 5/6 cables for this provided it is properly marked?

Yes, you can use a cat 6 and mark it properly. One cat 6 can do for even 4 extensions.

HI mister @Tech_Inside_Out Please does it mean you can use the DP to connect many telephones on Extension jack? That is if you have like say 100 telephones, can you use 16ext jack pbx with DP to connect them all?

No, it doesn't work that way. Each telephone extension goes to a pair of the DP. It is a one to one connection.

There is no special rule but you must do it in a way that does not get you confused and mix up your connections.

A cable having multiple pairs of conductors in it. A normal cat 6 cable is a multi core cable having 4 pairs of conductors, however there are multi core cables having 50, 100 and so on pairs
