Help, I have an arduino board that isn't working. I'm not sure if it fried itself. What happened is that I tried to test a servo motor with a sample code on the arduino software, plug out the usb cable then plug in the 12v barrel jack, then the burnt smell came out of nowhere.

I have used 9v battery on round DC jack. It works fine. But never connected to 12v on this connector. Check the specifications. Actual microcontroller chip might be still fine. Only power regulator might be burnt. Check on USB once.

Sorry, I have no idea on this. While checking on internet some people say there might be issue with oscillator(target chip's clock not running)

Hello bro...I tried using arduino as ISP to blink led for 1.5 sec. The code was uploaded to target. But the programmer arduino board is also blinking for 1.5 sec. Is it normal??

Actually the programmer board will be having ISP code. It will have same code even if you use it for flashing the target I have not observed the LED properly. May be it is not blinking because of blinking code. Try to upload blink code with different delay time to the target and see.
