This is a great guide, thanks for helping! I ran into an issue after running [mbr2gpt.exe /convert] where command prompt said that it "Failed to update ReAgent.xml...". ReAgent is Windows Recovery Environment which allows you to troubleshoot the PC. To fix this, follow this guide and after switching from legacy boot to UEFI, reboot the PC. Run command prompt as admin and run the command [reagentc /info]. This will tell you if reagent is enabled. If it says enabled you're all set! If it says that it is disabled try running [reagentc /enable] to enable it and follow up with [reagentc /info] to confirm. I hope this helps!

I got to the bios and the top on the screen says sabertooth x58 bios setup version 1101. When I sent to the boot tab the options were "boot device priority" "hard disk drives" "boot settings configuration" and "security" I don't see a boot mode or anything like that. Replace the hard drive and re-install windows and recover your data from a recent backup. The hard drive is toast. But given Windows 11 requirements I would buy a whole new machine with 11th gen CPU in it. so your hard drive will cost about $2000 because of Windows 11!

You can do this. If you have more than 3 primary drives created in your machine you can back up the data on one drive and delete it. Since there is a precondition to have maximum 3 primary drives to do this conversion.

If this person is still using physical spinning rust I would recommend him to switch to an SSD anyways. reformatting a non-SSD to convert the format is not worth the effort. As long as you have a good backup then replacing the drives with an SSD is the best solution.

i did all the steps, restarted my pc, i was booted into "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media" error i panicked hard, tried rearranging boot order, resetting the bios, nothing worked, out of desperation i plugged in my windows boot drive that i had just in case things happened, "repair windows 10" "continue into windows 10" and it magically fixed lmao gave me a heart attack but it fixed the secure boot error, thanks for the tutorial

Was trying to setup everything for Win 11 , changed my C drive to GPT, than i saw i have on D drive boot and on C is system, so i cannot use UEFI secure boot in bios, it almost broke my BIOS, would not load to windows at all, instead was going to BIOS in endless loop, barely able to fix later. May be it because of this check the disk managment page to get an idea about your partition. If you have more than 3 Primary partition then you have to free up one partition and delete it. After that you can do the confirmation. Before running the command you can run the same command with replacing /convert with /validate it will give you the idea of the successness of the convertion.

@@itsmeajit4750 Yes. My local disk is C and I had D, E and F partitions. So in order to do the conversion I had backup to delete one partition (I deleted F). Conversion will not affect for any data.

Not sure if anyone will reply but it's worth a shot. Following this guide, if there are 2 separate drives in the computer, will this conversation work on both drives? Or is it only targeting the drive / partition containing the OS? I've seen some mixed information about possible data lose and I'm trying to figure out all I can before pulling the trigger and enabling Secure Boot.

Help, I followed this and when it was restarting after enabling uefi mode its getting stuck in a loop saying start PXE over ipv4 then ipv6 and then starting auto recovery then restarts the process

se estiver dando erro "A validação do layout do disco falhou para o disco 0" é por que só vai da certo se tiver menos que 4 partições no disco, você deve excluir partições extras, pelo propio CMD da para fazer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZeao6aoebCXaqs depois é só converte MBR para GPT: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWLPqXqjnc2gqZI e por fim trocar as configurações da bios para UEFI.
