I was using Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband with the speed of 200 MBPS. Am in Porur, Chennai. Dont have any problem with the speed. the speed mostly goes up to 230 MBPS. I purchased it for my office purpose. After i connect this Xstream Broadband in my office VPN. The speed decreased to 9 to 11 MBPS. I complained several times to Airtel. But they said, if you face any issues after connecting to VPN then its not Airtel's fault. Then i purchased BSNL Fiber Broadband in my home and that is still working good. After i connect it to VPN the speed goes up to 93 MBPS. My plan is 100 MBPS

Fiber connection can keep up the speed most of the time until there is a disaster. The modem they provide is completely locked. Not even allowed to use custom DNS, restrictive WLAN password chars and almost nothing is customisable. There WLAN name will include your phone number. Why no one is concerned over the privacy of that? I have turned off everything at the default modem and created my own subnet with only one gigabit LAN.

@nkgaming3406 The password can be changed through the Airtel app and it is being pushed to the modem and it is not possible to do so directly at the modem. It has some character restrictions like cannot use #! symbols. But as a consumer I am paying for the Internet Speed only. But they are deciding which sites to load faster through their DNS. I have used ACT before which is good except they do not provide fiber till your home. I had the complete ownership of network settings. But have to suffer if there is a power shutdown.
