I have the HD6 and S8 wireless subwoofer connected to my desktop. I was undecided between the HD4 and HD6. I decided to go with the HD6 because I watch movies and listen to Spotify and other streaming services. I wanted a speaker that could fill a room or provide an easy listening experience. The mids are balanced and the bass from the subwoofer is perfect.

Why do some hd3s have screws around the front woofer? And some don’t. I was worried i had a fake set

Hello, Thank you for your appreciation. my desk is I think around 120x60 if you dont' include the part where it meets the L shaped long table on the side. My Monitor is 27" The HD3 is already perfect for the size of my setup as well as my room, the HD6 is a bit overkill but won't hurt to have.

I have the HD3s and just ordered the HD6s, but your vid has me doubting my decision. The HD6s sound muddier. Yes, it could be your testing setup ... but damn.

The HD6 are not muddy in a room - you're hearing them compressed through KZbin and whatever speakers you're using.

100% Agree with your conclusions. I have the HD3's and the S8 sub which is ideal for my PC set up. Any more powerful (and expensive) would be rather pointless 99% of the time. If I was trying to fill an entire studio or room with sound I'd look at the HD6's and the S8 for sure as the 3's just won't cut it being under powered. If I was to do again I'd look at the slightly larger HD4's perhaps for my particular use case (although they don't com in WHITE, I mean wtf). Other VERY important factor for me was a front facing headphone jack which the HD6's just don't have (front or back) this clearly shows they are designed for stand use rather than table top like the HD3'+4's. Bit of a big omission on AE's part imho and would make them useless for me as they work very well with having an on board DAC to use with my Hifiman Sundara's cans for music and gaming. I mean what would it have cost to have integrated a similar headphone out on that lovely front panel (or even on the rear at a push). AE you dumb a**es you've lost a sale I would have loved to have gone all out for these to blow my socks off at my desk. ☹ Someone else can have my hard earned money then....

If anyone wants to make HD3 sounds warmer and more beautiful when relaxing, just buy Mojo 2 DAC. Almost like 100% be a different speakers
