I have always preferred Autel drones because they make the most advanced drones. But Autel has also been putting out incomplete drones, where features are not working as advertised. I have recently bought an Evo 2 Pro Enterprise V3. I have a few hundred flights and understand a little about frequencies and antennas and I will explain here to dissolve any confusion about those things. I have lots of experience with the Evo 2 Pro V1 as I have 2 of them and have done lots of comparing and troubleshooting over the last couple of years with them. The Evo 2 Pro E V3 which should have a 15km transmission I just got barely transmits as good as my Evo 2 Pro V1's, which have a 9km transmission. When you go to the transmission screen on the new Evo 2 Pro E V3, there are no options, the screen is empty, Autel has explained to me this will be done at some update, it has now been 5 months since the drone's been released. The drone is very obviously working on a 2.4Gz signal, that is a short wavelength and should have a 2 inch antenna, just like most all drones up till now. The reason the transmission is barely keeping up with my Evo 2 Pro V1s, is because they put a 4 inch antenna, which is optimal for 900Mhz frequency. 900Mhz Is a longer wave that goes better through walls, when they do the update this will be an amazing drone yes, for now, if you've had an Evo 2 Pro V1 in the past, you will feel quite dissapointed. I do get real flight times of a little over a half an hour compared to 25 minutes which everyone always exagerrates, so Autel did real good there yes. So Autel put out a new drone with supposed frequency switching, but it's not doing any of that yet and the antennas are optimized for 900Mhz, which the drone is not working on, because if it was working 15km with 900Mhz would be amazing in the city yes. Of course at 900Mhz you then get a slower waves, hence slower data transfer, so I'm not even sure if they can transmit data at 1080 at that frequency, I would be fine with 720 resolution at 900Mhz, I still see power lines good on the bright screen, right now it is 720, I can easily tell, they havent updated that either. Respectively, a 4.8Gz transmission or 5.8, would be optimas with about an even shorter antenna probably closer to 1 inch, with makes it easier to fit inside your cellphone as you go up with Ghz :-). This is a very disappointing thing that Autel is doing and I hope they do the update for the transmission soon. I paid 5k for this thing and that was one of the main reasons I bought it for. Autel has also released a new drone with something very important not working as advertised. They kept my drone in repair for weeks so I got my money back from Blue Skies, who I bought it through. I then got the same drone through Amazon and found that the feature is not working on that one as advertised either. I have considered sueing Autel but I have always liked and supported Autel, and would prefer not to do this. If Blue Skies does not end the bank case against me I will tell everyone here what this feature is a lot of people would be upset, and I would hurt Autel, I would prefer not to do this. I hope they do an update to fix this soon.

I couldn't agree more. They bring out a drone, issues are reported, they don't address the issues and then come out with a next version and the cycle continues.

Are the batteries between V2 and V3 the same? I have the V2 and adding a thermal drone. If they are compatible I'll likely buy the 640T, if not then I'll either switch to the Max4T or to a DJI.

Here is where I need help. EVO 2 640t Dual with a Flir that does have temperature readings so it has to be radiometric…so I thought I would be getting the Infiniray sine it is 640T? So, are they both radiometric? If it says Flir, why can’t I use Flir Studio? I’m confused

I recently bought the evo 2 pro v3 and when i take pictures they don't show on my sd card but the videos do. I did some troubleshooting; tried different sd cards, reset the camera settings and this still didn't fix the issue. So i continued to trouble shoot and discovered that once HDR was on the photos i took didn't save but when i turned off HDR i now saw the photos on the sd card along with the videos. Why would this be? Im yet to hear back from autel on some emails of other stuff ive been trying to figure out. Anyone else had this issue?

This weekend I flew the Evo 2 Pro Ent V3 in some stronger winds, with longer arms and larger motors you would hope it would perform better then an Evo 2 Pro V1. It did not, it would slow down and drop altitude and even gave me tilt warnings instead of wind warnings. They have not even programmed the FC good for the wind, this is terrible. They need to do a serious update for the FC. I've flown my Evo 2 Pro V1s in powerful winds that wanna knock you over, nothing can take that thing out of the sky, the winds yesterday were not even close to that strong and the Evo 2 Pro Ent V3 sucked badly. It took them till June 6th 2022 before they had the final FW update that gave us dual stability on the Evo 2 Pro V1 also, thats 2 years after the drone was released. So thats how long we might be waiting before they fix things with this one. I'm starting a drone company and I can't even do serious filming with this drone because the dual stability is what got the Evo 2 Pro V1 real close to the Mavic, as far as smooth flying for filming goes. So at this time if I was doing serious filming, I would still actually be using my Evo 2 Pro V1 drone. Autel is focused on making money pushing the Evo Max 4T now and other products and is taking their time with this drone poeple spent 5K of their hard earned money on. And lastly, can we please stop beating around the bush with these useless accessories and make a drop arm like we know that that's what everyone wants. Can someone who knows electronics please rewire one of those useless accessories they give us and make a drop arm. I would be willing to pay handsomly for one.

Can the Autel transmitter throttle reverse? I'm from the rc helicopter sector and every rc transmitter support this feature except DJI professional drones and also Yuneec. Whats about autel?
@RMUSUAV
@RMUSUAV Жыл бұрын
The throttle only increases and decreases to produce or reduce lift. Enterprise gimbal drones are designed solely for level flight.

@@RMUSUAV thanks. I know that throttle increase and decrease change altitude. But my question was can the autel controller reverse this function. For example Pull - up and push - down
@RMUSUAV
@RMUSUAV Жыл бұрын
@@ottofraser4879 I see how we misunderstood the question. Our apologies. Some drones have offered that customization in the past, but it is not available on the EVO II. The options are limited to control stick modes 1, 2, and 3, which are universal across brands and continents. You can find a diagram on the middle of this page for reference: autelpilot.co.uk/blogs/tips-tutorials/evo-lite-series-remote-controller-overview

@@RMUSUAV thank you for yoze kind answer. My personnel mode is 2 but with reversed ascend / descend. Unfortunately, your answer will not satisfy a person from man-carrying aviation or from RC hobby aviation. because this function has become second nature through years of routine. if we tried to change we would get a knot in the brain. ask a helicopter pilot what he does to climb. he will answer you he pulls the pitch/throttle stick ;)

I really appreciate your video. I've heard that unlike the V2 version people are having trouble accessing 10 bit color in A-Log with the EVO 2 Pro V3. Some are even saying that the V3 version doesn't even have that ability. Can you confirm or debunk this?

I purchased the EVO 2 dual 640R (US FLIR BOSON) vERSION 1 for $3200. Little did I know the difference about the sensor and the 640T chinese sensor. I have seen the comparison video of each sensor and seems the FLIR is somewhat better for roofing and solar inspections but you have to pay for the software. the Evo 2 640T v2 you can use the free IRPC tool for reports. What in your opinion would be the better? Just need some personal advice Thank you Ed Ghosn UDS, LLC
@RMUSUAV
@RMUSUAV 11 ай бұрын
It's hard to say one is "better" than the other. Obviously the non-Flir sensor provides benefits if your budget is tighter. However, the file and reporting tools aren't as robust as the offerings from Flir. That's not to say that you can't use the Chinese sensor for inspections. They're both totally acceptable, it's just depends on what your needs are.

I know the one I am getting is V1 and I am ok with using the standard controller with the Crystal Sky. Flir Reporting tools being robust is good. Can I use the ICrTool with the Flir file? @@RMUSUAV

Hi and thanks for this excellent overview of the V3. Is it correct that the camera payload is swappable with other Autel cameras, for example a mechanical lily shuttered camera if and when Autel make one, and is this the same for the Max4T? I’m very close to purchasing one or other of the quads, but I 2 & 3D model and thermally survey. I know it’s never possible to buy a one drone fits all package but if these two drone are modularised in this way, it’s Autel for me from now on for sure.
@RMUSUAV
@RMUSUAV Жыл бұрын
Very good question. Every payload available for the EVO II V3 is swappable, though I'm not certain that the mapping payload features a mechanical shutter, so make sure to double check product descriptions before buying. The payload swapping feature is also present for every EVO Max 4T payload, with more payloads to come according to our contacts at Autel.

Do not expect to see any new camera modules for the Autel Evo series, as their emphasis is clearly on the new Max and Dragonfish Enterprise products. They have actually never finished the Evo II v3 release yet. Some very important and advertised features are still not available, if they ever will be. None of the cameras for the EVO II v3 use a mechanical shutter. You need to check the specs for the Max and Dragonfish.

Some time between Monday and Wednesday, Autel updated all of their V3 product renders on their website to the new color. We're told that this will be the new look of the EVO product line. However, the non-orange versions are not yet available for purchase.

I’m thinking that THERMAL capability is at the VERY TOP of MY ‘want’ list..not a necessity but a HUGE plus on the ability side. Living in “blacked-out” rural territory, I could put it to great use surveying wildlife populations AND the ‘Security` aspect is intriguing to say the least. Night-flying here is virtually NON-existent and the ‘Night Mode’..I imagine would increase the advantage.
