I have always preferred Autel drones because they make the most advanced drones. But Autel has also been putting out incomplete drones, where features are not working as advertised. I have recently bought an Evo 2 Pro Enterprise V3. I have a few hundred flights and understand a little about frequencies and antennas and I will explain here to dissolve any confusion about those things. I have lots of experience with the Evo 2 Pro V1 as I have 2 of them and have done lots of comparing and troubleshooting over the last couple of years with them. The Evo 2 Pro E V3 which should have a 15km transmission I just got barely transmits as good as my Evo 2 Pro V1's, which have a 9km transmission. When you go to the transmission screen on the new Evo 2 Pro E V3, there are no options, the screen is empty, Autel has explained to me this will be done at some update, it has now been 5 months since the drone's been released. The drone is very obviously working on a 2.4Gz signal, that is a short wavelength and should have a 2 inch antenna, just like most all drones up till now. The reason the transmission is barely keeping up with my Evo 2 Pro V1s, is because they put a 4 inch antenna, which is optimal for 900Mhz frequency. 900Mhz Is a longer wave that goes better through walls, when they do the update this will be an amazing drone yes, for now, if you've had an Evo 2 Pro V1 in the past, you will feel quite dissapointed. I do get real flight times of a little over a half an hour compared to 25 minutes which everyone always exagerrates, so Autel did real good there yes. So Autel put out a new drone with supposed frequency switching, but it's not doing any of that yet and the antennas are optimized for 900Mhz, which the drone is not working on, because if it was working 15km with 900Mhz would be amazing in the city yes. Of course at 900Mhz you then get a slower waves, hence slower data transfer, so I'm not even sure if they can transmit data at 1080 at that frequency, I would be fine with 720 resolution at 900Mhz, I still see power lines good on the bright screen, right now it is 720, I can easily tell, they havent updated that either. Respectively, a 4.8Gz transmission or 5.8, would be optimas with about an even shorter antenna probably closer to 1 inch, with makes it easier to fit inside your cellphone as you go up with Ghz :-). This is a very disappointing thing that Autel is doing and I hope they do the update for the transmission soon. I paid 5k for this thing and that was one of the main reasons I bought it for. Autel has also released a new drone with something very important not working as advertised. They kept my drone in repair for weeks so I got my money back from Blue Skies, who I bought it through. I then got the same drone through Amazon and found that the feature is not working on that one as advertised either. I have considered sueing Autel but I have always liked and supported Autel, and would prefer not to do this. If Blue Skies does not end the bank case against me I will tell everyone here what this feature is a lot of people would be upset, and I would hurt Autel, I would prefer not to do this. I hope they do an update to fix this soon.

This weekend I flew the Evo 2 Pro Ent V3 in some stronger winds, with longer arms and larger motors you would hope it would perform better then an Evo 2 Pro V1. It did not, it would slow down and drop altitude and even gave me tilt warnings instead of wind warnings. They have not even programmed the FC good for the wind, this is terrible. They need to do a serious update for the FC. I've flown my Evo 2 Pro V1s in powerful winds that wanna knock you over, nothing can take that thing out of the sky, the winds yesterday were not even close to that strong and the Evo 2 Pro Ent V3 sucked badly. It took them till June 6th 2022 before they had the final FW update that gave us dual stability on the Evo 2 Pro V1 also, thats 2 years after the drone was released. So thats how long we might be waiting before they fix things with this one. I'm starting a drone company and I can't even do serious filming with this drone because the dual stability is what got the Evo 2 Pro V1 real close to the Mavic, as far as smooth flying for filming goes. So at this time if I was doing serious filming, I would still actually be using my Evo 2 Pro V1 drone. Autel is focused on making money pushing the Evo Max 4T now and other products and is taking their time with this drone poeple spent 5K of their hard earned money on. And lastly, can we please stop beating around the bush with these useless accessories and make a drop arm like we know that that's what everyone wants. Can someone who knows electronics please rewire one of those useless accessories they give us and make a drop arm. I would be willing to pay handsomly for one.

I wish Autel would be more specific about which V3 units they discuss. Such as the consumer V3 unit vs the enterprise V3 unit. There is a difference yet not well expressed. This video clearly shows the enterprise units with their attachments that the consumer V3 does not have. This is a big difference. I would also like to see Autel 's website have a detailed user manual or video on how to use and adjust the setting in their Explorer App. Not just a description of the external buttons on the SE controller.

@RMUSUAV
@RMUSUAV Жыл бұрын
It definitely shouldn't take that long to charge. The best advice we can give you is to make sure that you are only using the charging brick included with your Evo case. For fastest charging on that remote, use the middle USB C port (the one that has an led halo) with the included USB C to C cable. Using a different brick or a lower capacity cable would definitely result in a longer charging time. You may also want to plug the Autel charging brick directly into a wall outlet instead of a power strip that may be sharing capacity with other devices. If you are still experiencing slow recharge speeds after trying this, we would definitely recommend that you reach out to your dealer or Autel themselves. For any hardware problem of this nature, they would be eager to correct the issue.

Are any versions of the Autel EVO II v3 drones "Made in the USA"? I remember reading that one of the v2 models had over 75% of the parts made and sourced from the USA.
@londenard
@londenard Жыл бұрын
Um where did you read that? Hahaha! Autel is a Chinese company. Period. The Evo 2 Enterprise Duel is partially assembled in the US but the main components are made overseas. This seems like a marketing spin with the "75%" number since the battery, airframe, and remotes are imported. It's like they are saying "the rugged bundle has 20 components, props, case, lights, airframe, remote, batteries, accessories, etc and only the aircraft, batteries, and remote are made in China. 3 things out of 20, so that's less than 25%!!!" Then add the fact that the components are put in the box in the US... aka assembled in the USA! Well heck, that's almost as American as grandma's apple pie and baseball in my book!!!
@afp415
@afp415 Жыл бұрын
@@londenard So after some research this is what I found. It looks like the Autel EVO II Dual is the only one that has the designation for Made in the USA. --- With an airframe from China, IR/thermal cameras from FLIR in the USA, and Sony imagers from Japan, the final product is assembled in Bothell, WA with American labor. “We also source the majority of our bundle components from US manufacturers such as FoxFury, GPC, TacSwan, and others” said DeLuca. “Our software and other components are predominantly also from domestic and NATO suppliers. We’re deeply focused on shifting the product program to a Made in USA direction. We brought in outside consultants to assist us in identifying resources and processes that bring us closer to our American roots.” “We are also proud to share that our solution does not require LTE for operations. Whether intelligent flight, or manual flight, our systems function without connecting to a server inside or outside CONUS, added DeLuca. --- The FTC seems to say it's not enough to just import parts from all over the world and just screwdriver them together, and seems that most of the components need to be from the USA. If you want to read more about the FTC guidelines on complying with Made in the USA standards here is the link: www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/complying-made-usa-standard

@Aaron P Yea Looked at a lot of that as well... you forgot the battery and remote, which are also made in China. Quite frankly, the airframe-ie drone, battery and remote are the drone. Arguing that parts of the payload are made in Japan or the US is kinda back handed. Not to mention that saying "we're switching the programmers/ coders to guys we relocate from China to the US"... trust me, read a little closer, is also kinda... sus, as the kids say. It's a little know fact that DJI employs roughly 10 times as many Americans as Autel. Not to mention they have several key positions in the company filled by non Chinese nationals. Listen, my point is not to down Autel, they make a decent product, my issue with them is their constant and pervasive twisting of the facts to present the veneer of being an "American" company when it simply is not true.

I've heard of people having trouble accessing 10 bit color in A-Log with the EVO 2 Pro V3. Can you confirm or debunk this?
@RMUSUAV
@RMUSUAV Жыл бұрын
I did not find the 10-bit spec anywhere in the brochure for the V3. It may be possible that only the V2 had the 10-bit option for video while only the V3 had 12-bit for photo, but we cannot verify that because we have only tested enterprise thermal models here and not the 6k models. That being said, on the V2 the 10-bit feature was only accessible at 4k or lower and using H265 instead of H264, which may be the case with other versions if they have it.

@@RMUSUAV Thanks for responding to my question the best you could. I really appreciate that. I'm not new to drones in general, but I'm kind of new when it comes to trying to change things in post. Should this 8 bit limit be a deal breaker for someone who intends on using the drone for real estate videography or for clients that require that level of video quality? I understand the image sharpness with this drone appears to be the best when compared to the Mavic 3 and for that matter any other drone in it's class, but being able to adequately manipulate the color science in post may be just as important as image sharpness. Do you have any thoughts on this? Like I said, I'm just getting my feet wet as it comes to messing around with the color science in post so I truly value your opinion. Thanks again, Eric
@RMUSUAV
@RMUSUAV Жыл бұрын
@@thriftysurvivor6117 No problem, Eric. From our observations, the majority of real estate drone footage is not color graded to the level that it would require greater than 8-bit color depth. It should stated that we do prefer higher bit depth whenever we can get it, but it should also be noted that unlike 8-bit video, any Log footage would actually require editing before it looked presentable. The flexibility with that editing is noticeably greater, but is certainly more of a cinematographer's level of praxis. As long as the pilot checks to ensure exposure does not sway too far to either extreme, native footage from the 6k would likely come out fairly acceptable for real estate video.
@thriftysurvivor6117
@thriftysurvivor6117 Жыл бұрын
@@RMUSUAV Thanks again for your reply. I'm a perfectionist so I'll just do my best to shoot the videos without over exposing or under exposing. I would expect the variable aperture should also help with being able to make changes on the fly as needed. Up to this point, I've never had the option of adjusting the aperture without bringing the drone in and changing ND filters... Even when changing the exposure settings while changing camera angles on most drones I've flown the steps are not as gradual as to not be noticeable in the videos. There are just not enough steps. I would hope the adjustable aperture would help with that.

How can someone tell the difference between the V1, V2 and V3 when purchasing?
@RMUSUAV
@RMUSUAV Жыл бұрын
This can be very tricky. Here is an article from Autel: www.autelrobotics.com/articledetail/954.html The most easily recognizable difference between the V1 and V2 is that the V2 has a "V2" printed on its top side. The V3 is easier to tell apart from the others because of the new cooling vents on each side. Great question, thanks for asking!
@itoothitooth4943

Good question. Autel is somewhat cryptic about this. Sometimes you see the V1,V2 or V3 on the descriptor. Autel is really pushing to sell the older version models. I have not seen V1 models for sell but old V2 and now V3 models. When you buy from a third party vendor, as Autel won’t sell to you directly (a big mistake in my mind), you have to make sure the vendor’s description of the model is clearly identified.
