Can I do that, so when the laptop is charged I play without a cable but if it goes to 20% then I just continue to play with a cable and when it is back to 100% I play without a cable or generally don't use a cable, then works So also my battery is broken or can I do it without worrying about my battery breaking

I prefer the 2019 version for many reasons. - solid body made of metal rather than plastic in 2020 model. - Full keyboard with numbers pad. - power button is away from rest of the buttons. - overall design looks far better than the traditional design of 2020. - in this video it looks that 2019 model is less in screen bleeding than 2020 model.

Note that screen bleeding is different in each device even if you have two same models of laptop. Aside from that yea, the 2019 model has few advantages

Great video. You educated me as I recently purchased the HP Omen. Initially, I was confused about the "2019" version as I have the Intel i7 10750h which was released in Q2 2020 and yet saw that my design was sold in both 2019 and 2020. I have the 2019 model and dont see a big enough difference to upgrade. Im still super happy with mine! The only thing I upgraded, was my nvme ssd to a 2TB, which I am glad I did!

@@PrismC They do run hot at times, but I do have a cheap cooling pad(I should really get a better one) - But nothing that has caused any issues or concerns yet

I have the 17", rtx2080, i9-9880H and it's an absolute beast. The only thing I don't like is the 4 zone rgb keyboard instead of per-key.

WT, i have the 2019 Omen with 17 10750h and RTX 2070 MQ and Runs 45-50° C doing nothing, and playing Fortnite on Epic runs 80-87°C. i think i need to change the Thermal paste. what thermal paste do you recommend?

I think it's a good temperature for a laptop, but if you still want to change thermal paster i recommend Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut

I got this laptop instead of the 2019... for the price of 1000 dollars same specs with 300hz... the reason I switched is because the shop didn't have the 144hz screen for 2019 model yet they still gave me 60hz model which I don't like. It happened 3 times. I complained and then they said that they will give me the newest one for the same price and boom... ordered a 144hz... gave me a 300hz with rtx2060, 1tb ssd, rgb lighting, 1080p, 32gb Intel optane... got it cheap on Sept last year

The newer model has only 15 inch option. I have the 2019 17 inch model with the same specs but with 1 tb of nvme ssd with 3500mb write speed. İm really pleased with the build quality and the performance. The older model looks much better with agressive fan grills

if they would have bumped that rtx2060 to 115w or even 105w it would have been the best choice. 2019 version is still kicking balls even if it runs hotter, and in my opinion looks like a gaming laptop 😬

Im looking for a new laptop and I found both the 2020 and 2019 versions, with the same specs (i7-10750H, 2070 max q) online for basically the same price (1100euros). The only difference is the 2020 one is "used" but basically looks brand new. Which one would you recommend?

I bought mine and was told it was 2020 model. However it has the middle hinges .. but it does have the 10750h. It was bought new of argos so dont understand how i got the 2020 specs but the 2019 case ? Any ideas

As i said at the beginning of this video, the model from 2019 was updated in 2020 with new specs and it was still produced in 2020 until the next generation came out.

@@demonz873 You can upgrade RAM, but if you already have 2x8 the difference will not be very big. CPU and GPU are responsible for performance in most part

I can also make it so that I don't charge my laptop while gaming, but if it goes to 20% while I'm playing then I start to charge, and whenever it is 100% then I play without a cable but when it is 20% then I start to play with the cable, which then breaks the battery

I have the 2020 year of 2019 version 2070. The look is the same as your 19, but the motherboard and the chassis layout is completely different from yours

If you don't wanna bother with undervolting and tweaking then 2020 model is better choice if it comes to thermals. It has good temperatures right out of the box

I buy a 2019 version with 115 w rtx 2060 and 300 hz but now i little regret not to buy 2070 2080 ver... i understand that g sync is so important in this laptops cause you have 0 options to turn v sync with so high refresh rate.. such games like fifa, dota 2 tearing even on 200 fps.

Your test doesn't look true...i 've seen the other youtubers...the old model is truly beating new model in a game with ryzen 4000 series...which is much faster than i7 10750h....and my result(omen 2019) is much higher too than my friend omen laptop 2020... -_

Well, the only way to find that out is you have to get the configurations i had and test them. Keep in mind that the results may vary anyway because of silicon lottery, game patch, windows version, graphics drivers, room temperature, thermal paste and so on. I have no reason to show false values, because why.

It's just that the omen 15 2019 screams gaming in my ears and it looks ugly to me. I like clean and minimal laptops.
