In your upcoming Lumafusion video, could you cover whether the editing from an external drive could also work straight from a phone or an SD card reader. If I can take footage straight from my Android without having to copy to the iPad hard drive that will have on impact on which iPad I buy. Also, reading Lumafusion's release it appears that this feature requires USB-C or Thunderbolt. This would rule out the basic iPad for anyone who wants this feature, right?

With digital art, your capabilities in the ever-popular Procreate app relies solely on RAM. It directly limits the number of layers you can use in Procreate and that includes grouping. This is important if you want to avoid destructive editing; where you have to flatten layers just to have more layers to add to the file. Hopefully this will help someone out.... I am a student in college and was looking to buy an iPad to take notes with. There were a few other things I wanted out of it but mainly the notes was the thing I wanted. I watched so many reviews and almost everyone seemed to say that the non laminated display was going to be a bad writing experience. I decided to try it out in the Apple store, and I actually didn't mind the "gap", I thought it would be a huge difference from what I kept hearing lol. So I ended up getting the iPad 9th generation, and absolutely LOVE it. It really suits my needs, and the writing experience is wonderful. So glad I didn't pay the difference for a laminated display. I did used to have an iPad mini, so it's not that I didn't have anything to compare it to (as the mini had a laminated display), but writing wise it really isn't bad. My other reasoning is, writing on an iPad is different from paper anyway, so another little difference won't bother me. If you are someone who is going back and forth because of this also, I recommend trying it out yourself in an Apple store. It may be perfect for you!

May I ask what screen protector you use for the IPads Pro? I have seen a ton of reviews on different ones and would really like your perspective about it. I’ve seen some Apple Pencils in really bad shape because of some screen protectors. I’d really like to buy an iPad for college so it’ll mostly be for note taking, studying, reading and the occasional media browsing. Also, would you recommend more the iPad Air or the Pro? Thanks!

I would definitely recommend the pro, it’s what I have. If its the newer ones you’re looking at the pros have the same processor as the MacBooks. The Apple Pencil is magnetic to the IPad and I use a regular screen protector with the Apple Pencil and my screen protector still looks brand new

Initially, I was having a hard time deciding on the storage on my IPad Pro 11 M1 as it costs more than $100 to move from the base 128gb to 256gb. In the end, I settled on 128gb, spent $10 on a 128gb OTG flash drive and upgraded my ICloud storage. I ended up spending much less and meeting my storage requirement.

I’ve owned the 10.5” iPad Pro since it launched in 2017 and finally decided to upgrade to the 12.9” M1 iPad Pro because I wanted the larger display for teleprompting and for editing photos in Lightroom. Side-by-side, the new miniLED display on the 12.9” is clearly superior to the old display of the 10.5” and makes a difference when editing raw photos. However, the old display is still no slouch and holds up well compared to the 11” M1 iPad display. I plan to keep the 12.9” M1 iPad Pro for at least 4 years and still keep the 10.5” iPad Pro around as a backup or when I want to travel with a smaller, lighter device. I’ll likely replace it outright if the next generation 11” iPad Pro features a miniLED display like in the 12.9” model.
@sonicvboom3 жыл бұрын
Why would you replace your 12.9' if and when a 11' mini-LED becomes available? Do you find 12.9 a nuisance/ too big for photo editing? Also, can one take advantage of the above 500+ nits during photo editing? Or is that "feature" only available when watching HDR movie contents?
@DCuerpoJr3 жыл бұрын

Honnestly, people buy overpowered phones for instagram (you don't even need top tier camera to take pics because people browse IG on their tiny phones, nobody will zoom in to see the nipples under the dress), dating apps and mail browsing... You can't really tell people to buy something less expensive because they don't need the power. They buy it because they want to show off that they are "in".

Even though I made several mistakes you mentioned (mainly storage) I'm honestly very satisfied with my iPad 8 32gb that I bought for about $350... vs if I buy the 128 gb which would cost $490 because it's out of my budget since I also need to buy the Logitech keyboard (used for $35!). The downside, however, is that I constantly worry about storage and perhaps won't be able to maximize my usage if I bought the 128gb one. I do want to thank you for your other videos though because they gave me more certainty when buying my first iPad. 8:00 *HUGE* disclaimer on that... Some models such as the 10.5" iPad Pro look nice on paper but have fundamental issues which are best avoided. The 10.5 has a chip that runs unexpectedly hot which discolors the screen, ruining it. Others simply don't have enough RAM for daily use or don't support the latest iOS.

I'm a management consultant. Exploring options to move my note- taking during client meetings to a digital medium (I often need to share these notes with my team after the meeting). I was leaning towards Remarkable 2 but the cost vs lack of some basic features (no backlighting etc) put me off. Sagi, again a great video! Thanks for that. Just recently it happened that the AC+ for my iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) model ended. Surprisingly Apple now offers (at least in Germany) an option to extend that AC+ on a monthly basis. As far as the Apple support explained you can extend the AC+ for as long as Apple offers support for your device, which is usally at least 5 years for iPads. Keeping that in mind this in my opinion is a strong argument for keeping your older iPad - e.g. my 2018 iPad Pro - for a few more years.

6:12, the base iPad has stereo speakers. The way it's phrased 'moving up to the Air you're getting a significant improvement in the quality of speakers and you're also getting stereo speakers' leads one to believe the base iPad doesn't have stereo speakers... which it does. You could say 'horizontally-opposed speakers', which would be accurate.

I've had the 2021 12.9 iPad Pro with magic keyboard for a month or so. This configuration is the closest I've come to using an iPad as a laptop replacement. It's a little clunky in terms of saving files and multitasking, but the addition of the touch screen capability with the keyboard/trackpad make for a nice working experience compared to my MacBook Air. I have easily been able to do 95+% of the tasks on I used to do on my MacBook with relative ease. Given the ability to pull the tablet off the keyboard case and use it like a tablet is a real plus. Still room for improvement, but it's come a long way. The downside - this configuration costs as much as or more than a MacBook Air.

First off, if you’re buying a base model 8th gen iPad get the 128GB model. Spend the extra $100 and have no worries. Unless your need a iPad Pro for PROFESSIONAL drawing or really need USB-C YOU DO NOT NEED IPad Pro. I have the 8th gen iPad base model 128GB. I use it every day for garageband and LumaFusion, with occasional Call of Duty mobile with no stutter at all. My only complaint is lack of usb-c. I’m a big file mover with external drives. It’s a bit of pain with lightning but it’s Doable. My only gripe. If you need it for regular day to day tasks. Save yourself ALOT of money and don’t worry about what everyone else has, the 8th gen will last years with software support. Some tech channels will tell you otherwise but they’re full of it for monetization.
