Good going! Great video! I have had the same Snow Joe for several years and I love it. Its a little work horse. Here's what I have found: 1) Yes, heavy wet snow will tax the battery and make it work harder. It will last maybe 40 minutes. 2) Light cold snow is a delight. I can do our drive, front walk and help our neighbor a bit. 3) I have found if I buy a (store brand) can of vegetable or cooking spray, and spray it down the shute, the snow doesn't stick as much. 4) Often if you think the battery has died, it's because with all the jostling, pushing and pulling, the battery has slipped just a tad off the contacts. Just open the compartment and slide the battery in again until you hear it click. 5) As a guy, you naturally have more upper body strength which helps. Just for the record, I'm a 74 year old lady. I bought my Snow Joe several years ago so my ❤️ husband, who had heart bypass surgery would not have to move snow.

I have this exact same snowblower, but I paid a whole lot more than you did. I bought mine in 2015. It doesn't make that high pitched whine that yours does. So far I haven't had any problem with the battery and I'm still on the original. My driveway and sidewalk aren't that big and unless it's a deep snow, I can usually get two pushes before needing to recharge the battery. I'm very satisfied with the unit.

I’ve had one for a few years. I bought an extra battery. Yesterday we had about 6-8” of snow; a bit wet. Sometimes with deep snow I do it in 2 layers. This time I pretty much did it all at once. It still does what I need & saves my back 😊

Just used ours today for a heavy snow, about 6-8”. Initially watched your video because I wasn’t sure about that high pitched noise it makes 😂 anyway I have a two car driveway and the battery overheated and died after about half the driveway was done so about 40 minutes of running. I charged it back up and was able to finish the driveway, move the cars to get behind and around, and still had battery left after that round which only took 25-30 minutes. Considering getting a second battery just so I can do my whole driveway in the same pass. Thanks for sharing about the fuse, I definitely feel like the overheating contributes to the chances of that fuse burning out, so now I know to be careful of that 😬

I purchased this same blower on June2019 and has been a strong unit. I don't have a garage so I have street parking so I'm able to clean out my side of the street for two cars, do my path to the house and the sidewalk, do some of my neighbors sidewalk and still have a light on the battery left. I do have two batteries in case I need the extra use but so far I haven't had the need of it. Thing to remember is that if you are going to expect 8" or more of snow you have to go out there and do a run before you get all the snow that way the machine is not fighting hard on deep snow, specially if its wet snow which it can handle but you definitely have to go slower and let the machine do the job at its pace. I didn't know about the fuse inside the battery but now that I know I'm actually happy about it because if something like what happened here happens to me I'll have a good chance of saving my battery instead of having to buy a new one.

@@techgooch these batteries should have a overload meter that changes colour according to load demand so that the user knows to ease off, even if the fuse didn't blow the lifetime of the battery would be very short, also could have a resetable overload button, the very least all tools should have a replaceable external a fuse link on the battery. I have an electric bicycle with a hub motor, the display has a feature which shows how much current (amps) is being drawn from the battery. I try to keep the load below 10 amps, obviously if I were to ride the bike up a long steep incline over time the battery would heat up and so would the motor, common sense tells me not to overload the motor or battery. I presume the snow blowers draw very high amps causing a drop in efficiency of both motor and battery, if your battery is even slightly warm you are damaging the intenal cells however if you were to slow down a little and also take breaks that should solve the problem. You need to feel and think for the machine, keep asking yourself, does the motor sound overburdened, if so ease off a little bit. I was raised on a farm, after a few breakdowns in the middle of cutting grass or bailing hay etc. I soon learned to work your machine just below it's max otherwise it will break. It saves in the long run to go a bit slower, just imaging you are trying to shovel all that snow, better to take your time out you will get exhausted very quickly, it's the same for the machine.

I bought mine in Nov. 2019. The winter that year was pretty mild. It worked like a champ. Then this Winter started mild...then about a foot of heavy wet snow over two days. It worked well and my only issue was not having ordered a second battery, which I did. The battery is half the cost of the machine. Then we had a light 2" of very dry snow. I started her up and we went 10" and it stopped. Called C/S they walked me through some stuff then said they were sending out a new one and to send the old one back and they are paying shipping. It arrives Tuesday AFTER the cold and more snow that is coming. This thing is really a great machine. The best thing is if you know you are getting more than a couple of inches...do it a few times rather than waiting for it to finish snowing. As mentioned I had the same thing happen to me, but I tried a BRAND NEW BATTERY which was never used which also didn't work.

The 13" snowjoe cordless power shovel works fine for paths, my deck and sidewalks. The 24v battery model is more than adequate. Bought refurbished. The 40v is problematic. Get a smaller Toro powerclear 21" gas for the driveway otherwise you'll be all day trying to get thru the plowed stuff at the end. And parts are easy and readily available. Facebook marketplace. I would use that to compliment the gas powered one here. The gravel is your whole problem. The gravel gets pulled in there and stops the blades from turning which pops the belt. The new belt -when it finally arrives-will pop also.

I bought a couple of these units at $99 each but no battery or charger. I was going to buy 5ah batteries and a double charger but started reading the reviews. So, I ordered a corded version instead. Time to off load the units for what I paid I guess. Maybe someone else is willing to have a go at them.

Very thorough review! I had a lil bit of a sour taste in the mouth bc you greeted gentlemen viewers, which I am not. I am looking for a well built blower with long battery life. When I saw this one on Amazon, i thought it looked kinda chintzy, and the low price deepened my reluctance to order it even more. I didn't hear you say how many hours your battery lasted. I may have missed that part. Still, I appreciate you taking the time to review the snowblower. I think I will keep looking.

Ours broke at the weld in the center. We have to buy an entirely new blower because replacement parts don't exist
