Hey good video - little tip (assuming the safety interlock gets fixed) - when pulling backwards over the path you’ve already done, no need to run the motor. That will help give you more usable battery life.

Thanks for an honest review. The safety switch failure looks like the machine should be recalled. There should be no excuse for a critical failure on a safety switch on day one. How is the customer service with this company to get the issue resolved?

I agree it was quite shocking. I have not reached out to customer service about the issue but my expectations would be fairly low on them actually doing something about it.

I have one and an extra battery. I put both batteries in and just swap them when one dies. We had 24 inches of fluffy snow and more in places 2 weeks ago and I went out and did my car, my 2 neighbors the pathway between the cars the sidewalk and a little more and used about 1/2 of the second battery. I will say mine seems to blow further than yours did. I can blow snow into my yard from the front of my car pulled into the parking spot and sidewalk. last year with heavy wet snow it still handled it with no problem. in front of the cars that the snowplow had pushed wet snow up pretty high my girlfriend would take a shovel and give a downwards cut and I easily threw the snow across the street with no problem. I leave it in the basement which I have to go through the kitchen to get to and carrying it down the stairs is no fun, but neither is shoveling. People that recommend gas snowblowers have to understand not everyone has storage for gas snowblowers like a garage if you live in a city. When I was young a neighbor used to leave his motorcycle in his front entry way until it exploded taking the whole front of the house out. I will never have a gas engine in my house after seeing that!
@jeffreylasczewski22732 жыл бұрын
Impressive demonstration. My neighbor has a Ryobi battery operated snowblower and it couldn’t handle wet heavy snow. For now I’ll stick with my Honda 4 stroke single stage and my Ariens 24” Platinum.

Does the impeller power the machine forward as it does on gasoline powered units? No one ever addresses this question in their reviews.
@JustinKelly10 ай бұрын
It's similar to gas units. I wouldn't say the propellers power it forward on either gas or electric I have used. If used downhill, it's very easy to push though.

Works fine for me. I have 3 batteries and I just rotate out from used up ones to new ones while another charges. I've had it for 3 years now so it's worked just fine. I usually like to get at the snow while it's less than half a foot if there's going to be a lot of snow fall. Also that's the first time I've seen the snowblower just run away like that without having the bar pulled back and none of the buttons worked.

If you do not heat your garage, I suggest you move your charger into the basement. Constant cold temps will shorten the life of your battery tremendously. I speak from experience. Mine and my son n law. Also, when the battery becomes fully charged, remove it from the charger.
@JustinKelly10 ай бұрын
Yes, we bring the battery inside when not in use during the winter. The garage stays in the 40's most of the time which is not ideal for long term storage. I actually recommend only charging the battery fully before each use and keeping it around 30-50% for storage.

If it's part of the 80v system, the battery should work no problem! Just keep in mind the capacity of the battery will affect run time and power output.

the safety switch not functioning properly is dangerous AF. That should be the beginning and the end of this review. If I have something in the garage, I want it to be something that I feel comfortable sending someone else out with without a long explanation of how it's dangerous if you don't pull the battery out sometimes.
@drwisdom12 жыл бұрын
Years ago I had a battery driven lawnmower and it worked great compared to the gas mowers I used for over 40 years. But I didn't have room for it in the garage so I left it outside. After some years the power switch that works with the safety release bar failed from rain rusting it out. So I removed the safety bar and broken switch and replaced it with a standard household wall light switch which I would flip to turn the mower on and off. I liked the mower even better after that modification.
