Depends on the intesity of the ambient lighting, I reckon. I feel uncomfortable in a dimly lit room, hence a monitor's maximum brightness may be a legitimate concern for me.

True. Real users don't care for brightness too much. I watch movies and play games and I never ever wished it was brighter.

Thank you for your profound comparison of those two models. Sadly, you just confirmed my worst fears. When i bought my S model, i was damn sure that the refresh rate is the only difference. I had no idea that dirty tricks like that are possible! Whoever in Benq made that downgrade plan is one hell of an a$$hole!

I bought the original Mobiuz EX2510 a month ago. Be prepared to burn your eyes with this screen, it took me a month to get used to it from a TN... but now im happy with it and i got used to it. The first thing i did was remove the orange ribbon on stand. The screen itself is nice, didnt need much settings. I keep g-sync off because it feels weird. AMA 2 is best. It's a great gaming monitor and fantastic for movies. It also has really nice speakers!

Man should have gotten the original variant when it was release a year back. This "S" variant is about the same in performance but cost more. The 165Hz is not worth the cost and most people will barely notice the increase

@@ninjafillet8114 If you care about movies and colour vibrance the most, get a monitor that covers ~95% of dci-p3 or if the price point you're looking at doesn't allow for that, then ~80% and up. Even the original ex2510 was nowhere near as vibrant as a true wide gamut monitor. You might also index for a higher contrast ratio than a typical IPS, so an OLED (if you can afford it) or VA would be better for that

you really know your stuff my man and the way you present your reviews is top notch. also i really appriciate the best calibration information. though i think people should not stay away from the S just because of the lower brightness, it's still plenty bright. in many countries the S version is actually cheaper for some reason or the normal version is no longer available, so still a good deal if you ask me!

I was really searching this monitor's review from this channel before I bought the S version since I had dilemma which to get and the S version not having much reviews and scarcity of the original, thereby its price bumped up by a good 30-40 dollars. As saddening it is that I bought the S version for the better price over the original, I guess the silver lining is that I'm coming from a good 7-8 years old Dell TN panel, so everything in the S model still looks gorgeous.

I'm using my pc as a workstation (I also work in the video industry, mostly reviewing videos for my company) and casual gaming and also for movies and stuff. Would it be a downgrade or an upgrade if I change to Benq's monitor? I can find the ex2710s on sale at around 220 USD.

I have both and tried different settings by eye, trying to emulate my tv which is calibrated with calman. On ex2510s reds are more red, while on ex2510 they are a bit orange, hard to tell without having comparison on the side, white point looks better on ex2510 and the new one lose a bit of detail in certain areas that looks a bit saturated on bright colors. Having better red is great, but as I was one year with the other screen, I'm not sure if I prefer this new one since it burns some colors even I touched the gamma and brightness.

He doesn’t use the best feature ever. There is huge difference between Ex 2510 and the S model. Brightness intelligence + is added to game HDRi and Cinema HDRi. I don’t understand why all monitors don’t have B.I.+. It’s like an IPhone and it has a sensor that adjust brightness. So let’s say a person has a dim light on then person turns on super bright ceiling lights, the monitor adjusts and gives the same image brightness. Basically giving the same monitor brightness with changing light conditions.

@enquiem3051
@enquiem3051 2 жыл бұрын
Don't buy this monitor! It sucks I have bought this 2 days ago and it seems this brand/model has very bad quality control. The first one, I've spotted a lot of bright pixels (1 full rgb pixel + 3 small scattered dots) in first 2 days of use, poor screen uniformity (half dark that looks dirty in white screen) and mild temporary burn-in, and I've noticed frequent small flash in the top edge of the screen, also one channel of the speakers is noticably louder. Second one has okay uniformity but has terrible banding, i.e if I move my mouse to make KZbin control menu show up a white screen video, half of the screen become solid gray. This model has poor gamma and color coverage in all profiles. The coating makes the image unclear unlike AOC 24G2. Back light strobbing is useless because it force you to disable freesync and lock the brightness down to very low. Ridiculously minumum brightness without BLB is actually a bit high to use in the dark. If anyone consider buying this over cheaper models, it's really not worth it. Switching from Dell P2421D with 99.6% sRGB having very accurate colors, in term of image quality, other than this monitor having a bit better black level, it is very bad.

What are recommended settings for sRGB mode? Should I change Contrast from default 50 to 52 for sRGB mode too? I suppose that I should change AMA to 2 in every mode.

We have tried your recommended settings and everything is completely gray. We tried it twice to make sure everything is set. are you sure your settings are displayed correctly? Ill go back to SRGB for now. and yes we do use the S model.

I found it terrible, i am sending it back. I feel like everything is yellowish, i feel like i struggle to read, it's just awful. I tried your settings, some other people's settings, it never gets rid of this horrid yellowish light, I HATE IT. It's stressing me out cuz i am coming from a very old TN monitor which has a very blue colour to it at its max temperature, but, my TV looks normal, my phone looks normal, whites look like whites. I tried everything and honestly it's making me go insane...
