I have used this stripper and found that this is only useful for stripping individual wires and not a cable having two, three or more wires means a two core, three core or multi core cables like computer networking cables having many wires inside an insulating cover. When such a cable is stripped using this stripper, it strips everything that is outer as well as the inner insulations of the wires so we can't only strip the outer insulation and then strip the wires inside one by one according to desired length. If a cable is to be stripped then we'll have to use a sharp knife to first cut the outer insulation and then use this stripper to strip the wires inside

For a eth cable you need a special one specifically for eth cable, it’s a different tool

Thanks for posting; the guides for the crimpers are worn-out already, can only imagine what they'd be like soon. I'll give them a miss. Again thanks for posting.

It adjusts the tension force of the cutter blade. You can adjust it for smaller or larger wires.

What’s the plus and minus wheel do?

No one seems to cover this in their videos and I can't find a definitive answer but from the one that I own I believe it is to micro-adjust the jaw grip for very thin wires. In the 5yrs of using mine I've never had to adjust the dial though so I'm really not sure.

I had a pair made by another brand and what I found was that the insulation cutter was so sharp it would tend to cut wire. Anyway to adjust the cutters force? Or should I have just filed them a but to dull them?
@TechLifestyle4 жыл бұрын
You could try adjusting the screw near the cutter...

@@TechLifestyle Maybe but that knob seems more like tightness on the non-cut, holding and pulling side. This seemed more that the blades were really sharp and they don't seem to have any adjustment on how hard. Seem like a sharpness issue or they need a way to adjust cutting force.

You can't strip cables that have multiple wires inside them else it would strip them all from outside to inside 😊. Only good to strip individual wires one by one

Nice video and great tool but you were using the crimping notch made for non insulated connectors. The one for insulated connectors is located closer to the pivot. That's why the tool leaves a deep mark in the finished cable. This could damage your connector and cause problems.

What is the small knob in front face of the plyers for???

You can slightly increase the clamping force by tightening the screw...for small wires.

Hi the crimping markings on this tool are clear. I have the irwin stripper, very similar, but the crimping is much different. Its unclear markings are making it difficult for me to understand which opening to use. Have you used the irwin tool and do you know how to use the crimper? thx.
