The kits that give you a pre-fabbed PCB with accompanying LEDs would work _just as well_ for this. Especially if you can find the kind with the hole going in the middle. You may need to sand the side of the board _a little bit_ to fit inside the enclosure; see the diametre of it. After, just solder it up and do what this guy did, then glue the board and cover in place.

Bro, dont mind this is not perfect way to use LED, you need to use proper heat sink with 3W LED else it will blow soon, second thing is that these LED operates at 3.5v MAX, so you need to put some resistance before connecting output of 5v charger.. you cannot ignore these things, else LED life is very low with this project.

very clever basically just using the housing though so it fits a socket. rest is phone charger and 3-6v led. since charger output is 5v... 3-4$ in parts vs a 20$ light.

He is only using the cfl blub case not the circuit board of it. 12v 1amp adapter will cost nearly rs100 . But i can buy a led bulb in that cost.

Actually the circuit works on mobile charger. Only the shell of old cfl bulb has been used as cover. Total cost of the project may not be cheap.

no matter what type of led you use, the charger circuit is going to provide the output labelled...so the output is fixed... :)

Charger circuit provides channel only, how much "water"/current will flow in the channel depends upon the resistance offered by LEDs.

Actually, you didn't convert anything. You just re-purposed the plastic housing and screw base, everything else was discarded. For a "conversion" you would have 'converted' the electronic driver board to power the LEDs, not just use the plastic housing.
