There is NOT any Auto focus Assist Beam on this camera, it uses flash for that purpose- The thing u r pointing there is actually "Red Eye Reduction light" ..

+Hassaan Khan Vlogs Yes you can put the mic on the flash mount but the mic connection jack must be inserted on the side. mic doesn't work just by attaching on the top, only flashes work that way.

It's entirely replacing the 650D, so they will only sell the 600D and the 700D. The 700D is the 650D with all the kinks ironed out.
