It's about time Teddy. You can't use the "I'm not an MMA expert" and then begin to breakdown the X's and O's of these fights with without missing even the smallest nuance and with such insight and precision anymore. I'm calling you out Teddy! You are a 100% qualified expert. "Yeah, I said it!" Keep up the great work, commentary, and fight breakdowns :)

Izzy also hit hit Pereira with a left hook as he was going down ,its crazy how he leans back like that when he throws it, its the same way he leaned and threw hooks against Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa. He pulls his head back out of range and leans his whole body back. All the fights he had that were boring were because no one could engaged him in the pocket.

Not to mention Izzy's feet and leg positioning being in a striking stance when he was "cage-a-doping" he was ready to launch, meanwhile Alex's stance was slowly getting narrow so when he got hit up top he didn't have support down below to absorb the impact. In their first fight Izzy's stance was still wide when he was getting TKOd, that's what kept him standing.

Watch Izzy against the cage, he kept his vision on Pereira through that entire sequence, he knew the strikes that were coming, enough to peek the guard, throw the left, chamber the right and uncork; that was drilled, you don't just throw that type of shot under that level of duress unless you've done multiple drills and instinctivized it. Either Pereira is that predictable with his shot selection, or that was beautiful game planning from the City Kickboxing team. Probably a bit of both tbh. The thing is, I think now that particular vulnerability has been exposed, I think Izzy and Pereira's opponents will capitalise on it in the future (if they fight again) - Alex is a glass-cannon, not sure how he handles 205 tbh.

Izzy won't get it from people who "don't know ball" to borrow a phrase. But that man commands high level of praise and respect from those who can fathom the immense amount of pressure that comes from beating an encroaching nightmare Alex man. I've gotten beaten up in a wrestling match. I was probably one of the more dominant hws in my district and one of my few losses was early in the year against this almost insanely huge guy out weighed me by 20 lbs or so. Stuffed My takedown took my back, chit me with the most clubbing crossfaces I ever felt and pinned me in under a min. When I faced him again at regionals the amount of flashbacks and internal fear I felt in that moment (didn't show on my face I hope) but it was and immense weight to carry into a big time match. I gave a much better accounting of myself but I still lost because in spite of the fact that I technically improved over the year I kept holding on to the weight of that loss (I lost mentally) All that to say there are plenty of examples of better men than me who go against the specter of the past and also fell short just like I did. And I just can't help but respect izzy for this incredible performance

@@samblack5313 I disagree. One example, Atlas brings up is not retreating straight back with a charging opponent. He likes to use the example of a train and needing to to dodge left or right. Also, many similarities when contending with jabs, straight punches, or hooks; leg work and circling, setting traps, weaponizing pace, etc.. Even with the differences, there are common problem. For example, both a boxer and an mma striker wish to lower their opponents guard. It's an easier problem to solve in mma if you have a credible low kick or take down. A boxer can still lower their opponents guard but it has to be done a different way. Kudos to your sister for being a badass. She might be able to choke out Ariel ;)

@@darynjackson816 You're blind. It was nothing like Ali's rope a dope. Idk if you watched Ali's rope a dope moment at all or you just repeating what some dumb commentators say in the commentator booth? First of all, Izzy was pressured back, and hurt by leg kicks, leading him to backing up, then he was hit by a knee and and a few punches to the mid section. Which definitely hurt him, since it is Alex who is throwing punches. This is no way planned, this is a situation he most likely wanted to avoid. It wasn't like Izzy tried to toy with him, Which Ali did, and Ali wasn't hit. I don't know why all you retards are repeating this... lol It doesn't remind me anything about the rope a dope. Izzy how ever has probably been practising this position a lot, since he knows Alex's left hand is hanging low when he is coming close, Izzy counters it with a right over hand. He did earlier in the fight. He also did it in the previous fight.

Luke Thomas pointed something out, that I'm usually keen on picking up! The first was a jab-hook combo and the second one, Izzy actually handtrapped to hook (a hook or overhand right, kinda in between). Handtraps are more common in MMA, but I've even seen Deontay Wilder knock someone out utilizing a hand trap. Usman ko'd Jorge with a handtrap to right hand. Jorge ko'd Till with a shifting handtrap to hook combos. Darren Till himself knocked down Jorge with a handtrap, earlier in their fight... That's some Bruce Lee s*** is all I'm saying! P.s. and before all the Bruce Lee haters jump down my throat, go watch the video of GSP explaining how he uses techniques from Bruce Lee in his MMA fighting style and then go do your homework...you're wrong Georges is right

That is the scariest, darkest 1-2 I've ever seen! It wasn't uber-powerful & Pereira's head didn't flip back like Ngannou uppercutting Allister.. But it was intentional & deliberate. In the replay, he looks calm & is just leering through the guard waiting for the opening. He had is feet slightly out in front rather that underneath him, ready to spring out of the guard, & was rolling with the shots. & he did all of this while He had a freakin giant, monster of a man ( who had beaten him 3 times..or twice, depending on you you ask) throwing serious power his way & doing so is the same situation that led to a loss last time. It was just so damn calculated! Just a beautiful 1-2, where the 1 was a distance measure/ chin finder, thrown to pave the way for the 2. Adesanya is an abundantly abled, smart, calculating, experienced & dangerous dude. It's the totality of these things & everything else that went into it that makes it such a dark & scary 1-2. There were 4 other times he through some punches that stirred up the same feeling inside of me: - the body shot combo against whittaker ( 1st fight) - the whittaker KO - the body shot combo against Costa - the Costa KO idk how to convey the feeling/ emotion im talking about. But I can try. its an amalgamation of things & evokes In me the same feeling as when watching:cthe zodiac stabs the couple on the beach in the movie zodiac - just this dark, guttural feeling... the shots were all 100% intentional ( in the sense that he knows exactly what he's doin & not simply that he meant to do it). They were calculated, accurate, speedy, technically sound, powerful, vicious, damaging, slick/sneaky....& They were things that you just don't see anyone do & they force you to appreciate just how good & dangerous of a fighter he really is.

Everything you saw was scripted. Izzy baited the trap it was all by his design and the hammer fist was to make sure he went to sleep although he already was. That hammer fist was on the neck. That's not an accident. Izzy knows if you hit someone on the neck they go out. So he's telling you several things about himself. Damnnn Teddy was freakishly accurate towards the end about what was going on in Izzy's head at that moment! And one of the best breakdowns I've heard 😮... people calling him a legendary trainer are selling him short! 😅

Alex kept doing the same mistakes in all 4 fights and never corrected his mistakes because he had been durable until now. Not to mention that Adesanya's defensive abilities are much better and his understanding of all the distances. The experience in fighting with 4oz gloves also favored Adesanya.

He is still durable, the first shot didn't hurt him much on the chin, it was the second shot almost identical to Cain VS Junior. I don't know why nobody is seeing how similar a shot it was.

IZZY needed Pereira to bring out his best out. To see a fighter fight his fears and to demolish his bully like that is extremely impressive. The whole week you can see that izzy had to be more than ever then he had ever been before.

Nicolino Locche , wonder if Teddy , studied this guy move around his opponents, he was like seeing a ghost , watching him slip 7 , 8 punches , one guy he was fighting , literarily knocked his self out missing and falling outta of the ring , Philly Shell , shoulder roll , amazing fighter , check him Nicolino Locche , so many similar moves , Floyd 100 percent studied this guy .

Just watched his recap of Gaecia vs Tank, and i laughed when he starts repeating what he thinks the fighters were thinking, about the decision to "live or die etc" In the TankvsGarcia recap, he mentions Tyson Fury getting up in 1st fight vs Wilder. Here it was the thoughts of Izzy & Mohammed Ali vs Foreman, as they all "decide to live or die & if they die they dont really die, because u can exist and not live" lmfao sounds like my 90yr Grandpa, too funny (-:

People need to STOP talking as if Pareira was the scariest guy and Adesanya was a David beating Goliath. Geeez go rewatch all their previous matches… Adesanya has ALWAYS dominated Pareira what has always prevented him to KO Pareira was either the referee or the bell !!! This time there was just no bell and no referee they were left to themselves and he went down as he should have been lonnng time ago !!!
