If a pavement has low density means below defined ( 92 percent of Gmm as defined in MORT & H 5th revision) , the air voids are interconnected and premature distress can result. These may be in the form of aging, increased cracking , rutting etc.Generally a pavements can be well compacted during execution. During execution sometimes it is not possible to achieve the design density of 96 percent ( 4 percent air voids) by rolling itself which may be due to lack of less bitumen content , lack of mixture confinement, cooling of the layer or improper layer thickness. So we can compact the DBM layer as much possible which may be 92% to 93% of Gmm for the thickness layer but for the further compaction of the pavement can usually be achieved by 1% or 2% in summer season by traffic itself. So see what your cases .Allow the traffic is over DBM layer and see the performance. If performance is poor, remove and relay. Alternatively if performance is good no need to worry.
