Fascinating piece - and none more perfect to read it than yourself. :o) x

What a gorgeous tale! Intriguing and so well structured. A story within a story within a story. I feel so much more informed about Edgar and Virginia, regardless of how fictional this is. Haha the ending was an unexpected twist. Wonderful reading, I’m a big fan. Thank you!

Wonderful to hear-I am so glad I am subbed. :) I am always looking for good, unusual macabre stories, and if read well, all the better. Pray tell, are there any other youtubers that read short horror that you would recommend? I haven't found one I enjoy as much as your's. :)

Look for Nick Gisburne, and also check out the Creepypastas, some are not that good, others are excellent. I'm subscribed to CreepsMcPasta, who along with Otis Jiry are probably the best. I also have a subscription to Chilling Tales For Dark Nights. You might be interested in looking up "Suspense", an old radio show - most are crime tales but there are some horrors among them. Also "The Price of Fear" audiodramas featuring the beloved Vincent.

This might be a stupid question but is any of this literary analysis of Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death" based on historical truth, or some elaborate fictional storytelling. Either way I'm sure this is how ancient myths were born, and maybe best not to know. I was completely enthralled with intrigue

You'd have to ask the author that question. :)

It is a highly elaborate, but fictional history. I had to go and research it though, because the author does such a remarkable job. I loved how intellectual the horror was in this story. It would make a marvelous Twilight Zone episode... :)
