After waiting for years; I finally got a pair of 800s! Like new for 800 euros. I've paired them with a Wiim Ultra and a pair of Fosi V3 monoblocks. I'm watching your videos about them over and over. lol.

Agree with your listening impression and are glad that you include the Technics again which are my favourite speakers out of these three as I already told you when comparing it with the Elac one or two years ago. Combining the Technics with a suitable subwoofer and finding the right crossover frequency would be almost an endgame combination requiring speakers of at least 6000 Euros or more to beat it :)

The Technics are supposed to be used as studio monitors. So, of course, they sound neutral. How is the sound on depth these speakers. Does it feel like some sounds are coming from behind the wall. Even with my small Sony sscs5 speakers (on a desk), the sound is behind the speaker. So there is lots of depth.

Did you ever have a chance to try the technics sb-c700 with the recent technics integrated amps that came out at similar time? I’ve really enjoyed pairing it with Denon, Sony, and tube pre/class d amp; but wondering if the synergy with something like the su-c700 (lapc enabled) would bring something unique… I forgot you had a su-g700

@@kaneda7katsuragi I already bought the GX-70 but cancelled the order. I would like to hear that combo one day since the GX-70 is known to have surprisingly good low-end while maintaining clear mids and highs. I think that exactly what’s best for the SB-C700

Close to the end of the video, you mentioned about an amp you heard that would sound amazing with the Elac Vela. Could you post the name of that amp? I have the Vela paired with McIntosh C8 Pre-amp with add-on DA2 DAC and NAD M23 Amp. The music is from Roon through Sonore UltraRendu streamer. Not sure if it sounds better than the one you mentioned.

I called Elac in Kiel and asked them for recommended amps for the Vela. They suggested Primare. The higher the better.

What would you prefer for 70% home theater 30% music, Evo 4.2 or Technics SB-C700, if the price would be the same €700?

That is a hard one. Depends on the films you are watching. For action movies it’s the 4.2. For dialogue intelligibility and wider sweetspot it’s the C700

@@DigitalPhilosophers great. Getting this exact setup. Selling my Metas & S2 stands and transferring the Gaia IIIs and the Atabites filling to the Norstone. The SB-C700 will be powered by the Arcam SA20 or 30 (I switched from Cambridge Audio to Arcam as a result of watching your earlier videos). Cheers
