Can’t wait for the pysch episode, forget that boring jazz! Thank you for taking the time to make this video.

Great to see these EMC's here in a mini-review. And good to hear that they actually might be improved over the original releases. I do got The New Quartet (original German pressing) but do not got that Old and New Dreams yet. Good release to contribute my 200+ ECM collection with. Thank you.

Another great video! Is the Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, is the title Green Graves? I streamed that one after watching this. Fantastic! Reminded me of Paul Schutze.

Great new visual environment with the new shelves! I love ECM and have some titles I bought back in the late 70s, early 80s. Wonderful music.

Last week I bought as „blind takes“ 2 of the 5 releases you have just shown, and coincidentally they are your 2 favs. You are right. They are definitely worth taking shelf space :-)

So happy to see you give so much praise to Old And New Dreams. A phenomenal record, easily one of my favorite recent purchases . And my only pick-up from the new Luminessence series so far.

Always enjoy hearing about ECM and the process. The highlight for myself is the Tone Poet Blue Notes and the reissues. Sounds like some great records ! So enjoy the description of the RSI - Dark Ambient sounds like it deserves some listening time. The OG shelves look great, and a nice addition to your video.

I love that cool car (1967 DeVille?) on the Hank Mobley jacket. Cadillac was once the dream car of many Americans, now not so much.

Michael, looking forward to your listening impressions of the new OJC release of ‘Waltz for Debby,’ which I spun this morning and was astounded by the sonics, dead quiet vinyl and immersive emotional depth of the music Kevin Grey musters from the source material; equal to if not more impressive than the AP 45rpm version.
@Michael45RPM Жыл бұрын
wow thats a statement .. its rare that a 33 beats a 45 are you really sure?

@@Michael45RPM I know! If not beats, then very close. Bottom line: it’s great! I’ll look forward to your opinion.

I like ECM but my only beef with the label is the change of the ECM logo, from the large logo in silver against the green background to the current one.

I'm not sure about the Don Cherry release. The ECM website states: 'Many of the re-issues are cut from the original analog master tapes and all Luminessence releases incorporate the striking cover art which has contributed to ECM’s renown.' I can't see any reference on the Don Cherry release that this is one of the 'Many of the re-issues' that are 'cut from the original analog master tapes'. Neither on the relevant page on the ECM website, nor on the copy in my local record store. Seems fishy to me. At least with Mofi, you know what the digital step is. ECM come across less transparent here, but if anyone can point me to something more reassuring, I'd consider buying this.

Michael, have you picked up any of the new Original Jazz Classic Series titles? The first one I purchased was the Bill Evans Waltz for Debby and was very pleased. I was curious on your thoughts. So many good titles being released lately it is hard to keep up!

no i havent picked up any. I have all those titles and i am not convinced so far with this series

@@Michael45RPM It would be great to get into this a bit more to understand your reservation. A friend showed me Michael Fremer’s article saying the Waltz for Debby is the best version ever released on record. I hope the same will be true of Sunday at the Village Vanguard. All the best - Robert.

Awesome vid. Quick question Michael, since the other Mike left, are you still a fan of that sleeve company? I just bought some inner sleeves from them. Curious if you've found a better source or they're still your choice. Cheers.

Well that was a surprise on the Green Graves as I listen to some ambient but never heard of him. However, I found the compilation of the older titles, Water Witches (bandcamp ftw) to be more my taste as it is a bit more unnerving. thanks Also, I need to stop watching these as I seem to order a couple releases each time. I went with Sonny Clark and D Redman this round.

I just receive my copy of Old and new dreams and I'm confused . The new version is more lively but much too high pitch for my taste, my original copy is more deep , more musical, really I don't know what to thnk about this ré-edition.
