The main problem with that build is the thin cabinet mdf and lack of bracing. Even the paper tweeter is not an issue as they can sound ver y good. Thanks for the show!

I had no issues with mine (4) hooked up to a 9900z Sansui 160w x 4. Held up fine and 2 still do, sold two many years ago for the $. Still the two I have left sound and look perfect! Purchased all together while in the Navy directly from Japan 1981.

What do you expect from bottom of the range component range speakers. Check out some of their high end speakers for a different story. Saying that, I'm sure we've all seen a lot worse 😅

i think its a well made speaker system back before the big decline that alot of audio companies were going through nice good old wall shakers that woofer looks well built maybe thats why they printed super bass on the woofer im sure it has a realy long throw excursion xmax 300 watts max wow too much i would nt push it that far though the spkr. looks pretty good shape to be made in 1982 give me the old school !

No, I wouldn't push it either. That magnet on the back of the woofer is good for maybe half that, and then the chassis will get to hot. If anything, that might be 300 watts for extreme brief periods, with RMS hoovering in the 150W range, which is right about the max continuous output. With sensitivity at 99db, they were quite efficient and loud, so no reason to push them past 125-150 watts.

The cross over looks very simple for a four way system, Still a four way gotta be better?? Some people might think so!! Four HAS to be better than two...more is always better!! Less units better bracing and damping, I bet that cabinet really rings when you tap it.

Ещё скажи провода бОльшим сечением. Ничего по факту не изменится, перестаньте верить в сказки аудиофанатиков. В акустике такого низкого класса это как мёртвому припарки, так же не забываем с какого источника и в каком качестве будет на них подаваться сигнал.

"Ширпотреб того времени" Точно сказано. Корпуса хуже, чем скворечник во дворе. Хоть распорку догадались сделать, без неё было бы совсем плохо. Динамики игрушечные с виду, штампованная корзина, НЧ динамик лёгкий как пёрышко. Жаль тех, кто покупает такое. А барыги перекупы такие ящики с динамиками продают за оверпрайс.

Looking at the design and box thickness I'd say probably quite boomy. This is a cheap build. Does look hardcore though. I really like the see through dust cap on the woofer design.

I don't like these speakers I like my speakers I have 15 inch speaker 5 inch mid and a bullet tweeter the crossover for my 15 inch speaker is 1000 hertz and the crossover for my tweeter is 1975 hertz I don't like all speakers except my own speakers

Technics made many good speakers in the 1980's. For the market of Japan.

Technics made some amazing products in the 70's--80's . They made what is considered The Most Powerful Receiver Ever The SA 1000 330 wpc matched up with The Technics SB-E500 speakers delivered a sound second to none. These SB-G900 were rated above average 3.5 out of 5 stars with big bass sound that tended to rattle the cabinets. These were a Speaker Line mass produced for the general public. The SB-E500's are audiophile grade speakers.

Do you have these, then? And you are saying the bass distorts? What are you using for an amplifier? Sometimes that is more the problem than the speakers. Also, these speakers are 37 years old, the capacitors on the crossover inside should be replaced to sound like they did when new.
