Great tip to share with everyone.. I still have an SLB3 model put up, of course that was still the old Belt Drives ..Kind of miss those, sometime..Really like your table here ! I have used Technics since early 70's ..Just subbed.. You have some interesting videos going on ! Love the laser light table !

Great tip, mine will only sometimes lift the tone arm then put it back down again.

sometimes it will move all the way to the end of the record with the start function, the auto start will not always set the platter moving (sometimes)

Hello, maybe anyone here can help me. I have the same model SL-1600mk2. My problem is when I start to push the on button the table start to spin even I did not push the start button. And if I begin to push the start button nothing happen and the tonearm didn't move at all. And even I start to manual lift the tonearm it return and return it again in the home position. Maybe you can help me. Thank you in advance.

It has a sensor to make sure a record is on the platter, if not, it will return.

The sensor is just left of the tonearm, the tall standing post. My point is it will only work correct if a record is in place. Otherwise it is a malfunction and will need service.
