Own it. Just like yours. Just great in it's class. IT was a MID OF THE LINE. I like The sound, warm signature, bass with good control, present mids, and clear highs. Drives speakers quite good, doesn't lack power. I use it on 4 ohms, and it sounds very autoritary, but depending on The speakers, the sound stage may be affected. Living in an ex comunist country, I use Rft B9251 speakers, which are fairly good, best speakers în east, but also compared to some west and japanese the RFT may outclass them. I also use Jbl LX55, on remote, and can select between them, it has" Main or Remote", no "Main and remote" . (both RFT and JBL are good, both have tops and flops). I also tried this Technics, with... LINN ISOBARIK...had no trouble with driving them (and they are well known for being hard to drive), but generaly it didn't feel underpowered, however in some passages, felt a bit underpowered, but still managed to control them. In that case, I think SU-7700 could be more adequate for Linn's. Or even the SU 8080, which is a piece of art. On The end: Pro's: drives speakers easily, no matter how difficult they are, it can drive them, design, sound is warm, with good bass, nice mids and good highs (however here could be better, you need speakers with good sensitivity on highs), generaly no need for using The tone control, good quality overall. Con's: Useless loudness ( The bass is enough even without loudness, maybe just on phono, but even so, bass is powerful), no AUX input, Vu-meters barely move even with switch on 0,1. You have to crank it up for moving the Vu-meters and by then, neighbours are already pissed off. Use it with a SL-MC410 CD Changer from technics, and a belt drive Technics SL-B202 with AT95. I would like to have The matching tuner, but it is very hard to find, especially the K version, as the silver version was more popular. The Brown versions are slightly lower in number. However, sound somehow better than 7700, just my opinion. I also own : Hitachi ha 3500, Pioneer SA-606. All three are good, all three have pros and cons, but Technics was the only one to be able to drive hard speakers, in the same class, the other two were severely underpowered, especially HITACHI, but this doesn't mean it is not a good Amp.

I have owned the technics SU 7300K amp for many years now and it has never let me down. your amp looks just like new, awesome. my buttons are somewhat discolored. but eveything works great. this amp is the best one out of all the classic amps in my opinion.

+Delerium Gabber Pretty much all audio related Japanese home electronics from the 70's are the best, unless they're low-end. It was a great amp for sure but definitely not the best soundwise. The best sounding receiver is my Pioneer SX-1250 which I might review in a few months! I've had a Marantz 2270 as well and that thing was great as well!

I agree, not soundwise, but in durabilty. The amp still works great after so many years. I use mine on a daily basis.

As I've said earlier in the previous comment. Pretty much all 70's Japanese audio related home electronics are pretty much built to last for ever or almost ;) They might require some small service/maintenance every 2 or probably 3 decades but other than that they won't dissapoint you!

It would be great to listen to some examples with voices...to appreciate its mid range. Some Joni Mitchell or Joan Baez???
