A useful demo guys! Thanks for sharing. You asked for suggestions. Maybe a piece on colour harmony. How you decide on the overall palette. How if dictates shadow colour etc. Keep doing a great job of educating.

I thought the general idea of transparent paint was how it showed through to the next one or 2 layers below? I do not see this demonstrated here. What am I missing?

Can you guys talk about mediums? The difference between them, the benefit of one over the other, and one thing that I am confused over is compressing the values when it comes to the shadows. Thanks lads, the videos are great. Maybe have them come out on the same day. Cheers. From rainy Ireland.

I second the opinion to do a show on mediums. Also can you show the proper way to do an underpaintings. I read an interview with Natural Pigments and I'm totally confused regarding what is the proper and safest way to do this. i really enjoy your videos!

Yep, found it helpful, I'm at that stage/level where I'm starting to understand the complexity and diversity that can be achieved with different pigments or colours. Be interesting to have your opion on landscapes, especially in achieving distance with colour, without having to always tint things with white. Blue is an obvious solution, but what about using greyed down tones?

I've seen your work and you're a very good artist BUT, why oh why did it take you 27 minutes ? Why not paint the spheres and explain what your idea is. As it is, after about 16 minutes I started to lose the will to live Just get to the point which is Use thick opaque oil paint on objects in the front with strong sunlight and thin transparent paint for shadows and background objects Would you expect people to sit and listen to you for half an hour, whey you could do it in five minutes ? Please give me a break !
