Thanks , I love hardware for the hands on control, especially when performing live or jamming.. btw from the gear you mentioned only the td-3 is analog .

to be fair I just love it, its small and compact, have fader, button knob, It doesn't leave my desk anymore

sounds awesome. oh ha, you kept your tr6s after all (for now anyway). I've got a Rytm, MBase 11, Volca Kick (love them al) and a few others (including non-drum machines that make for great drum machines, like the A4 and DSI Tetra) but the 6s is looking rather appealing with its acb models and small footprint (the kicks really do sound good). Roland has always been crap when it comes to support, but did they ever make the editor better? Any kind of daw integration on the horizon? I mean, it's not Overbridge as it is, but it's still miles better than going through audio conversion and then back to digital, no (I care less about other instruments, but I want the kick as pure as possible)? Does the editor expose deeper editing? How's the faderfox? I've got the PC12 (non-endless encoders, but lots of potentiometer) and Midi Fighter Twister (love it), but seriously considering also getting the EC4.

thank you, yeah I kept it because of the classic tr sounds and the small footprint, but I am still very annoy that I have to use the chaotic Asio4all to have seperate input. I will use it way much more if it has audio through usb... The editor, LOL , this is the biggest joke ever, it's a standalone editor, which mean you cannot use it in your daw 🤣, beleive me I am so pissed at roland. I didn't even install the editor as I don't buy a hardware unit to control it with a mouse 🤷♂️. I love faderfox, it's like rockewt solid controller in a compact form and so easy to use and that work so well. I got the PC44 which is the old PC12 i think, and love my UC4, it will stay on my desk forever, great for master fx, mixing and few things I cannot directly access with push 2, and it take no space. I hesitate between the ec4 and uc4 but as I already got knob comntroller, I went for the uc4, it got knob, fader and buttons, whoch is perfect to map anything on the fly

Thanks for those great explanations 👍 DFAM is still really a challenge to sync, any idea how to manage with more interfaces without cv signal?

Midi out/through of one of your hardware into the adv/clock of dfam maybe

How did you manage to record at the same time TR6 through USB as well as your main interface? I thought ASIO in Windows limits to a single device? Btw. SQ-1 generates sync out signals as well as has a clocked midi out!
@audioreakt2 жыл бұрын
yes it does but if you use ASIO4ALL you can have mutliple. I don't like to use asio4all for everyday use as I found it very chaotic and unsteady. Also the other big problem jusing asio4all with ableton is that then you cannot use your audio interface to listen to other audio source like VLC or spotify or internet... But for like a quick jam performance I don't mind putting it. it generate sync out but there is no start/stop only clock. I haven't try yet to do midi out into the dfam, I don't if possible I will try

@@audioreakt awesome, thanks! I think ASIO4ALL might be the reason for some extra latency btw. I looked at it and it's kind of intimidating at a first glance as well. And I've been using Asio Link Pro for channel remapping for Windows audio, which is a confusing piece of software on its own - not sure if it's possible to combine them. But I might give it a try, for TR8S (I can do kick on left channel, others on right and bus processing, but that's quite limiting for techno and FX).

No it doesn't, but I might could have use the midi out, now you got me thinking 🤔
