Techno Jam w/ Analog Rytm, Sub Harmonicon, Microfreak & Modular

After getting lost with my Subharmonicon, a sequence came out, then add some drums with the Analog Rytm, a pad sound with the Microfreak and a percussive synth with the mini modular case.
-The kick come from the Ableton 909 Core kit, which I passed through the Dirty Laundry and Neuron Flux filter (from the modular case). Then I apply my double rumble rack in Ableton ( • Double Rumble For Doub... ), then record, export and import into the Track 1 of the Rytm.
All the other Rytm tracks are from the sound engine.
Track 2 is a Snare that I use for snare roll, Track 3 is a Rimshot and Track 4 an Offbeat Clap
Track 5 of the Rytm is a Low Tom which give this extra groove to the low end. And Track 6 is kind of a Hi Tom.
Track 7 is a noisy rhythm made with the noise engine.
Track 9 & 10 respectively Closed Hats and Open Hats. Finally Track 11 is a Ride.
The scene on the Rytm allow me to add low cut to the kick and toms, but also mute my hats. The Performance is a washout effect where I accentuate the Delay & Reverb send of all of the track, the Reverb Decay become longer too. To find out more about how I do that : • Elektron Analog Rytm T...
-The main lead/melody come from the Subharmonicon. I use Ableton CV LFO to modulate the PWM of Osc1 and 2. The synth goes through Ableton where I used Ableton Filter Delay & Hybrid Reverb.
-The percussive synth is made from the Loquelic Iteritas, which goes through the Dirty Laundry for some Folding, then through the Neutron Filter, then Ableton Delay and Hybrid Reverb. The patch is triggered by the SubHarmonicon and I use the Seq1&2 out of the SubH to modulate the Morph and Modulate of the Loquelic Iteritas.

Fantastic jam. love the lead line on the Subharmonicon. It's quite hypnotic watching the sequencer come in and out of sync. You should definitely finish it as a track for release. Congrats

Killer track, great atmosphere! It's all coming together for you with this hybrid ableton / hardware setup! These are also some of my fave instruments, Rytm yeah, Loquelic hell yeah!! Just I had the feeling that the kick kinda got lost sometimes in this mix under the low tom (or maybe I was using overly bass-heavy headphones)

I think it might be the headphone's eq curve. On HD600's with EQ correction applied, the kick is there, but I don't think it's meant to stand out in this context. Seems well balanced!

@@happylittlesynth yeah, Bluetooth earphone with no eq correction. It resulted in too much base sometimes in other cases. Nevertheless, even on these it's an awesome track

Thanks mate, yes I want to do a track from scratch tutorial with the rythm, but don't really know when I would be able to do it. I didn;t have time to properly check what the syntakt does soundwise, especially the different engine, I heard nice hats and clap coming out of it, but as I already have the rytm I am not sure it is worth investing in one for me.

No problem, I used a Sony a6400 with a Sony lenses Fe 24mm f/1.4 g master. the lense is overkill to be fair and a kit lens will do the job. To get an overhead shot I am using a light stand ( c stand). You will also need a proper light as it is more important than the rest. How do you tempo-synchronize Rytm and the modular synths?

I am not sure but I think it goes like this : ableton master clock, Rytm sync via ableton with overbridge, midi out of the Rytm goes into the SubHarmonicon Midi In, Trigger out of the Subharmonicon into the modular. There is no clock/sequencer on the modular, it's just triggers and cv(pitch)

You dont have room for a tr8s but there's an analog rytm. Mmmmmm....

Well I bought the rytm before the tr6s that explain why. The tr6s goes just above my rytm on my normal setup (here is a smaller setup made especially for the jam/video). Like both my rytm and tr6s fit on one stand, rather that I would have to have a double stand or different one if I had the tr8s...hard to explain without picture though...

@@ecilo307 sometime yes sometime no, it depend if I want a more raw analog kick I don't overprocess, if I want a more modern sounding kick I will usually process it in Ableton and export and re use in the rytm
