The fall script can make some nice sounds for drones. I put mine through a microcosm on tunnel or haze, it sounds really great! Great video, lots of inspiration here!

I think we share lots of philosophies about composing. I create live sets for Digitakt and that is a way to relax after busy day. I think it is called deep hypnotic techno what I do. Many times I start new theme by listening drones and tesxtures and rest of the track follows the mood and feel that is evoked by the ambient sound. My tracks don't contain any melodies. Sure there are looping arps which contain more than root and its octaves. Yet I don't think they are melodies as they don't have start or end and they don't go anywhere. Some would argue that this genre would be boring but it is matter of perspective. If you pay close attention to all of the sounds they are in constant small movement and hardly ever be exactly the same although being very repetitive in nature. Go ahead and check my recently released sets from YT. I think you might like them. They draw lots of inspiration from the Hypnus records Memoir pages which can be found from the Soundcloud and I think are very worth listening too.

Hey! I also create music like that a lot of times. It's not boring at all, there's space for atonal music and melodic music, and you can even blend the two! You nailed it with your explanation, movement makes it way way more interesting than just a catch melody if you ask me. I'll give it a check ;) but yeah i like to do more groovy, danceable stuff but I also have tons of fun doing "hypnotic" drone drenched techno eheh :D Thanks for watching!

I love the Oneiroi! I really need to get back to playing, I’ve been too busy and down since I built it, and haven’t done much at all. What is that screen thingie?
@AThousandDetails6 күн бұрын
ahah i had the same, life just happens and you sometimes don't touch your toys! The screen thing is a Norns Shield. Cool community and DIY project, which pushes you to learn or code stuff in LUA and Supercollider. It's a paradise for "ambient / drone" but also tons of cool sequencers and FX in there! Cheers!

@ oh, that looks very very interesting, especially as I already use a Pi for MIDI routing!
