A product named "Instant On" should NOT take 10 minutes to boot...

I almost stopped watching the review at that point. Can you imagine being in an office and saying, 'take a 10 minute break, the switch is restarting?!?' 10 minutes is a very long time in an office with 20 people that bill at over $100 an hour.

@@edwardallenthree All enterprise grade switches take a while to boot. Reboots are very rarely needed, I just logged into a random switch at work and it hasn't been rebooted for a year and a half

Not a fan of the instant on but I really liked these switches.

the fan is awful, but the switch seems interesting. also the bad: - missing temperature sensors or other sensors screen - loud and uncontrolled fan - lousy fan holes in the case - no ssh/console cli - no snmp temp sensors ... probably more

We use Aruba products at work all the time, it's definitely some of the best in the industry. For home I too use the InstantOn though on the wireless die of things not having control of the transmit power is a huge downfall. All competing vendors have some sort of power control. Yes the InstantOn has ARM however in my testing it is not doing a good job.

I agree on the transmit power.

Great video. I'm installing a new home network, the 1930 switch looks like a great option. Do you think Aruba APs or Ruckus APs are more reliable? Arguably Ruckus has some really fancy wifi tech under the hood, in addition to having 2 eth ports on higher-end APs, which can be really useful.

Both! Personal choice. I think Aruba is easier to use, but that is my preference.

Aruba can do everything under one pane and has a better interface.

When setting up an additional network/wifi, can you use a separate DNS setting? e.g., I want to set up wifi for my kids devices and direct them through adguard/opendns but on main network i don't want to utilize the opendns filters set.

With the Aruba, set up a different network for them and then with the tools built in the AP you can block all that content. You don't have to use a separate DNS server.
