One of the most important achivements was the discovery of the winds and sea currents, together with astronomy and cartography and it is never described by scholars everywhere! Only after knowing where to catch the winds by the back and which currents could help the ship to advance, it was possible to build the carrack and the galeon. Because only with the caravel, it was possible to advance without winds by the back. After the winds directions, currents were known, it was admissable to build heavy ships for transporting heavy cargo or war material. It is extremely important that someone could publicize the description of the scientific advances that were needed for travelling across all continents and seas. That was an extremly hard task from the Portuguese and usually its not spoken, but science is not for countries, it is for all humankind!
