Opening a Harddisk in open air or touching its disks means destruction of Harddisk and data permanently. The process for repairing of Harddisk is done in clean room when internal demage is a cause and recovery of data is performed by softwares.

Superb. Thanks for this detailed explanation of HDD mech. I've a question, what if we change the storage disk instead of the head/circuit board with the working normal HDD? I mean take a working similar HDD and remove it's disc and then insert the disc from dead HDD and recover all data and then put its original disc back again? Will it work like this? Does it depends on company, storage capacity, rpm or circuit bios etc.??

It does not work because platters are paired with the bios chip installed in the motherboard of hdd and they are encrypted so does not work....the only option is to repair that hdd

Sir it’s really very nice of you to show the process in much detailed way. Really impressive. But it’s always said that even if one dust particle sits on the platter, the whole data is gone. So how one can do it in open environment? I have one Small HDD having DATA but it gives click click sound I want to recover data… can you please help me ?

you are right, one should not open the HDD in a normal room/environment. Contamination can kill your chances. One requires CLASS100 HEPA hood/laminar flow. If your drive is clicking then possibly the drive has experienced a physical shock or jerk. You will have to have it analyzed. Partial data recovery may be possible.

If my hdd platter(inside the hdd) is okay and in the name of donar, I have only same size(3.2 inches) but every things are different like capacity, rpm company. Then can i replace my platter(glass part inside) from a donar disk for data recovery.
