I previously had a Z Flip 3, which developed a crack in the screen after about nine months. The Z Flip 4 that replaced it developed a crack after 6 months. So, I switched to the Razr 2023 (the one with the small screen) and was very happy. No screen issues and now my daughter has it (and it's still going strong) because I got the Razr 2024 as soon as it went down in price. It is a marvellous device. I love the big outer screen. My only small gripe is that, if I'm playing music and using the camera with "auto scene detection" switched on, the music gets kinda choppy because the chip can't handle the real-time updating of the scene detection while doing really anything else. Easily fixed, though (turn scene detection off)

If Lenovo, the owner of the Motorola brand, wants to make a splash, offer the phone for $399 outright and guarantee OS updates for 5 yrs. At that price and support level, it basically becomes a no-brainer for the average user, basically a free phone on sale/offer from carriers with the peace of mind of OS support. My last Android was the 2014 Moto X. Software support was the primary reason I switched back to iPhone and have been there ever since. I know some Android makers are trying, but it's just not enough.

I had this phone for about a week and ended up returning it. My main gripe was the camera. The camera is not trash, it's just not that good. My opinion might be a bit skewed since I've had Google Pixel phones for a while. Started with the Pixel 3 and continued with each new model every year. Pretty sure that if I was not used to the quality of the picture quality from the Pixel phones, then I would think that the pictures from the Razr 2024 are amazing. The camera on the Razr 2024 could not even compete with my older Pixel 6. That was my main letdown. Love the form factor of the Razr. The retro mode was a great throwback to my younger days. Whenever Motorola can get closer to the picture and video quality of the Pixel line, I will definitely be part of the bandwagon.

Motorola needs to catch up with the competition if they want to be more respectable in the foldable space. While Samsung is offering 7 years of OS upgrades, Motorola is still only offering 3.
