Putting the privacy filter is good, if there are people behind you then you can put the brightness down the lowest while you can still read and to further confuse those behind you just zoom out so the letter is smallest but still large enough for you to read.

funny how they improve something and then come up with something else to counter this exact improvement they invented panels with insane viewing angles - then they sell privacy filters to narrow that angle down again they invented panels with super fast reaction times to eliminate any blurriness in fast paced FPS and racing games - then game devs add motion blur effects to fucking everything they once praised TFT technology because light reflections on the screen are way less of an issue compared to CRT monitors - and then they market glare type displays as the best thing ever seriously - i don't get it.

If you put a circular polarizing filter in front of a screen and turn it, the screen will go blank, same concept really, also two linear polarizing filters at 90 degrees will go blank as they block all light.
