For everyone watching this. This is a “drop feed machine”, which is why this doesn’t handle thick materials. I would suggest a “walking foot” machine or machine with a powered roller on top.

Congrats on the new machine. Great and honest review. I work with the Tippman Boss for heavy leather work. But, like you used to do. I currently hand sew shoes or boots. I hate that part of it because it limits my design features. But, maybe after this winter I will have a go with the tech sew 👍

I like the machine nut the 830 with the powered wheel is slick but the thickness capability is less i believe. I will continue looking at theae before i buy . Thanks for the video, i find there's not enough videos on the different techsew machines i find that aspect very lacking

Love the review videos. I know you had the hand crank Weaver, do you still use it? I haven't found a niche where I need to specialize, so just for general purposes I'm considering the Weaver.

I do not have it anymore. It was too heavy duty for what I needed it for. If I were to get a single machine it would be a cinder arm from Techsew.

I wonder if there are any heavy duty post bed machines because I was thinking it would sew a little bit more heavier than it does also . I have a class 4 for heavy stuff but it's not a posted for those hard to sew seams. This one will kinda only due light weight leathers well. you can push it a little but you have more headaches .

The machine you are working with can be converted to a rolling foot very inexpensively .a rolling foot is the best for leather as it leaves no marks on the goods you are sewing

People should do research before buying machine for leather stitching. Best is cylinder bed 335 normal stitching setup without tje binding set. Chinese any brand will cost 300 dollars. Its a copy. Of pfuff 335.. I got this post bed used once it is a waste for any leather artisans. This machine mostly used for stitching thick garment like denim. Roller foot is for shoe upper stitching.

I have it too and was disappointed with the power for leather. I just use it for really thin stuff now and started working with thinner thread . it will do best with 69 thread sometimes 92 but anything thicker and it struggles. needles 18 is the largest it sews well at.

@@Dahna_ what kind of product are you stitching if it's shoes or saddle you need to go for 441 heavy duty with 1000 watts motor electric and use slow wheel for thicker material smooth stitching .

@@zak-zr1xn yeah I have a 441 the cobra class 4 to be exact. I sew bags and there are some seams that you just can’t reach with a cylinder arm so I needed a post bed. I knew it wouldn’t sew as heavy as my class 4 but I just thought it would do a bit more Iike at least 138 thread .

@Dahna_ class 4 is best reason the get all foot they got for class for it is really worth the foot you can do winders in stitching . For bags if you got post bed cylinder one more you need try to get you can stitch all designs . The rotating arm not the post bed type swing type . If you get one of those you can do mass production any designs where is your factory ?

@@zak-zr1xn My factory is in my garage. lol I have the techsew 2700, the class 4 and the cobra 5110 post bed for leather. for cloth I have a brother innovis 4000d sewing and embroidery . I just started using the stirrup plate on the class 4 for tight gussets so it's helping me a lot. I was thinking if I got a shoe patcher then when I have difficulty I could just use that since it sews any direction. I just dent have time to do hand stitching in hard to reach areas.

I want to start my hobby in shoemaking, like making custom Nike shoes, somewhat like the shoe surgeon. So I think this machine will be the best for me hopefully it handles well.

I got my 1970s Adler 30-1 with a claes Foot. No Motor..in good order..on ebay in Germany for 120$..😂😂They here available in Europe from 100 to 900$..👍🇪🇺
